Forget the IAP spacers, it's very flimsy. Also, take a look at the shipping costs!.
If you want very good spacers, that are reasonable in price, and very rigid. Go to www.kartboy.com NASIOC had a great thread on the need, and Tom@kartboy delivered for us.
That's what I did for my rear speakers! I even kept the voice coil leads and soldered them to the aftermarket terminals. That way the "new" setup plugged right into the stock harness.
That's exactly what I did for my fronts. Nothing a little chipping away of the old and some long screws didn't fix.
On that note, I can't believe how horribly bad the stock speakers are! I've never seen speakers that were so thin, almost like they used some "heavy duty" rice paper and a giant contact lens in the center.
yeah they are pretty chintzy!
but i'm now somewhat amazed at what little it takes to get half way decent sound. who would have thunk the radio sounded as it did with plastic cups as speakers?
The speakers in my '05 didn't even look that good. They are literally transparent, like a frosted clear/white plastic cup. When I get around to doing the rear doors, I'll be sure to snap some pictures. Warning: it'll be a while...
