I have 2 MTX 6000 10s in a down firing ported box running off a JL slash 500.1 and they get down. But I wanna clean everything up and make it looks good. I got my front door speakers waiting to go in and waiting on the stock sail panels so I can make tweeter pods. Just wanna build a nice amp rack and make it worthy of showing off.

My custom horn loaded subwoofer box. 30x30x24", weighs about 100lbs.

Not practical, to say the least. Pretty loud though. Yes, the rear hatch trim is removed.

The amp is sitting here right now:

When I finalize the install I will probably put the amp in the side of the rear hatch.

Whoa... now that's a scoop right there.

I think those MTX are a little too deep to try and do a false floor enclosure. Are you against rear firing them, one over each wheelwell?

I have rear fired them. The are louder that way. As of now I wanna leave the spare tire in since I travel a bit. IDK about the wheel wells as they would be in 2 different boxes. I could just leave the box as is and build a amp rack behind the seats. But I kinda wanna be able to see the amps.

Are you wiring up a volume knob to the front dash? I adjust the bass volume pretty much every song and it is kind of annoying and somewhat unsafe to grope behind the passenger seat to adjust the gain knob.

What I'm doing with my future car subwoofer amp is opening up the case, ripping out the stock gain knob, and soldering new wires to those connections and running a gain knob to the seat heater switch deletes. I would be hesitant to rip open a nice JL amp though.

Yes, don't hack up a JL amp. They have a remote bass knob you can purchase.
