How to remove rear cup holder?

My kids have a habit of using their feet to open the rear cup holder and have now broken one of the hinges so it's difficult to open properly. I want to remove it to see if I can perform a quick fix but for the life of me I can't figure out how. There are no visible screws and I tried using a screwdriver to pop it out but no luck. Anyone ever tried this?

My 'dear' little one did the same thing to mine recently...

I found that the entire piece that holds the two rings in place just pops out if pushed diagonally upwards or downwards (she did it with her foot so I'm guessing it was downwards) and I just pushed it back into place by pushing down on one side of the 'cross-member' that the two cup holders fit into, after that it still wasn't working correctly so I pushed the two rings down into the bar and it seated them correctly again... just lucky I guess!

Ok I'll give it a push and a pull and see what happens. Failing that I think I'll have to remove the whole centre consol to get a better look at it as I don't think it will pop out separately. I was hoping to avoid that.
