Default Another sweet shifter knob

Kudos to Jami (yelnats_J) for another great shifter knob. This is a custom one sized to my specs. The great stepped taper at the bottom was an unexpected surprise. IMHO, this is the best one yet. Yes it shines just like you see it in the pic. I powder coated it with gloss clear for low maintenance.

Thanks I owe you one.

Wow! That thing looks like is should come with D cell batteries!

Looks nice, but too blingy for my taste.
Enjoy the new toy!

I've got three (!) of Jami's shiftknobs, two aluminum and one Delrin. The aluminum ones are deeply polished, and very shiny...but I don't think they're blingy at all. Theres a subtle difference between chrome and perfectly machined, polished hard aluminum. Well, for me there is, anyway. SuperRu, the stepped taper looks awesome.

I've got one of Jami's aluminum and one of his delrin knobs as well, and bling is not what comes to mind! I absolutely love my honeydipper knob... wish it had that beautiful taper, though!

Does it just twist on or does it have a set screw? I've never taken mine off. It matches the silver interior pretty well. I'm looking at a MOMO type from Subaru.

Ogopogo, not sure about the AT knob, but the manual knob scews on. On my 5MT, I can change knobs in about 30 seconds, including the shift boot ring. The trick is to unscrew the knob (still attached to the boot), and then twist and lever the knob off the boot. It's much easier and faster than I can describe it, but be careful of the plastic "teeth" on the chrome boot ring, 'cause they have a finite number of knob changes in 'em.

Toddlamp -- Oh, you should have seen the sexy, professional, fully-splayed Vaseline-coated-lens shift knob pics on the old site! Hot? Oh, yeah. Whew.

But I just checked my files, and I got nothin'. Maybe Jami has some archive pics.
