Add One Touch Folding Rear Seats?

Is there way to add One Touch Folding Rear Seats in? I would assume this is just an extended cable release. It seems like a crime that they sell the power rear gate on the premium and limited but reserve this feature for Touring model. I browsed around the subaru parts page for the Touring interior but didn't see anything that matched. The punch out is there in the back, feels like this would be an easy upgrade.

Was talked about here:

One-Touch Rear Folding Seats

But I don't know if anyone has tried it yet. Seems more complicated than a simple cable and button...

That helps, thank you. I think they were over thinking it in the other thread. I don't think there are any electronics going on here. You pull down on the seat latch button which just pulls a cable, kind of like a throttle cable, that releases the seat.

Here's a picture of the button, you stick your finger on top and pull down. I have a friend with a touring and I'm helping him install a hitch this weekend and he's going to have to take off the drivers side interior body panel to install the harness so I will check this out, maybe even some pictures, but I feel like this is an easy mod within my grasp. Especially since they put the switch holes in the panel just ready to pop out.

Interesting. If it's relatively simple, I'd definitely be looking to do something like that. I put my seats down frequently, and am constantly forgetting until I'm at the back and then have to go around to each side to pull the tabs. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying.

Please report back what you find out! :)

The Factory Service Manual verifies that this is indeed an electrical switch. You can see the FSM documents and additional discussion in this thread: No release button to fold rear seats?

Damn, was really hoping it was going to be a simple pull cable. I'm still interested in this. If I do end up doing this I'll post the steps I took and the parts I used.

Using your PDFs in the other thread Josh, I found the wiring diagram. Seems pretty straight forward. I just need to find that lead coming off the fuse box somewhere around the rear seating area.
