Anyone here participate in this?

I have this running whenever my computer has downtime, and it doesn't affect it in any way. I'm thinking of starting a team...

...Subaru Forester SETI Searchers

or some other name we can agree on.

I was a big-time participant and early adopter (May '99) with the (now) old-style S@H. I dropped out when my team, which had made it up to 8th team overall, disbanded because of internal disputes. Plus the boutique computer I'd had built turned out to have chronic, fatal, uncurable overheating when running flat-out 24/7/365. I think I ended up with 5000-ish wu's.

I gotta say S@H was great fun, and is highly recommended. I learned a lot about radio astronomy, pushing desktop computers to smoking, sparking failure, and made some good friends.

I believe they stopped posting new work units for that in mid-December (least wise that's when I seem to recall no longer being able to DL any new units for processing). Need to switch over to BOINC if you want to keep participating.

:sorry:

Now to get the rest of the community involved. We could get a pretty good sized team.

Sounds interesting, but I'm devoting my spare cycles to the cancer research project at www.grid.org
