Got dogs?

One of the reasons I picked up my Forester was to have more room to pile my stuff in.... mountain bikes, surfboards and my dog.

Any other dog owners here?

My Great Dane, Fisher...

Yes, a dog was also a deciding factor for me in changing to a Forester.
Picked "cara" up a few weeks ago...

Shes a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, not very common in the UK.

Same here... my dog wasn't too fond of the crammed cargo area in my old Outback Sport. Here he is in the back of the Forester. :)

Chesapeake Bay Retriever's are great dogs. She is very cute. Ugh, those pic's make me want a new puppy.

Here's my puppy pic of the Dane...

Here's the two main reasons I'm driving a Forester instead of an STI: Sam (head on top) and Penelope.

OK, maybe mine could be mistaken for a cat :(

Even though she looks like a city dog she loves camping and is a great ratter.

When we are away camping she spends the night patrolling the campsite. The roos give her a chase up but she does well for her size.

I didn't buy the XT for her but she will be my number 1 navigator :)

She is a good poser for photos too.

The photo was taken by the Wollondilly river.

She is looking upset as we were just about to head home after a week away

The funniest thing I ever saw her do was take on a rat about half her body length.

She won but ended up with a few nasty bites so a trip to the vet for stitches

No stopping her sometimes.

Edit - she looks grubby after a week away in the bush. I usually clip her right back in summer

Gorgeous mate

I used to own a black lab. Was an excellent hunting dog and even better family pet. Taught my daughter to walk. My daughter would crawl over to her, hang on and the lab would slowly get up and help her step across the room. Quite amazing to watch and most who saw it could see it was deliberate and not a fluke.

The recent "fluff" I own is very different in type of dog but again has an incredible intelligence. Surprises most people.

They truly are a gift.

They are pretty feisty little buggers... One of my associates at work has a Maltese/Yorkie mix. He brings him to work almost every day so the dog has sort of become our office mascot!

So sorry to hear you lost your dog, pepperblues... :( That's something I'm afraid to even think about. My dog is like my four-legged fur-child, and he's not getting any younger either (he will be 10 this year in August).
