But Ubiquity isn't available for it...
But if it's faster, I'll use it on my laptop. I'll stick to Firefox3.0 on my desktop for now.

I do like the speed increase, not sure if I will stick with it or not, but its different and I like playing with new things.
Interesting find SuperRu, I had not heard about that yet. What ever happened to Google's sang "To do no Evil."???? |

I've been using google.com since 1998, but I don't agree with some things they are doing nowadays. They've contacting me to schedule an interview when I was looking for a new job in '04, but I didn't go for it. Culture there is.. different.
I tried the browser, it works pretty well and imported my Firefox bookmarks. The statements in the EULA are bizarre. I don't really need another browser, Firefox works just fine. Stan |

Looks like Google is going to change the Chrome eula and make it retroactive.

That went out the window when Google decided to get into the censorship game with the Chinese gov't to insure they could do business in the Middle Kingdom. 'Guess good business trumps no evil.
I'm not picking on Google exclusively. Yahoo (and I'm sure other) businesses kowtow to the Chinese gov't. The thing is that other businesses don't so overtly boast "Do no evil," in their mission statement. |

I grumbled to them about that when they decided to install Google Earth at a place of their choosing in my file structure rather than giving me a choice. I like to maintain a tidy file structure.
They never responded.

My biggest concern/suggestion was about having 1 copy of a bookmark. I often repeat a bookmark in different folders, and under IE, I could click on the arrow and open 4, 5 or any number of predetermined windows for a preset of I/P's for work and troubleshooting.
The other suggestion has to do with Security Certificates. Banks, Credit Cards, and many businesses use them. Google Chrome doesn't even acknowledge them. They are SUPPOSED to fix that by the time they release it, which is why I was surprised to see them release the Beta. Oh well .... someone had a reason ....

My bookmarks are a mess, but I don't use them for stuff that I care about in the long term. I go through and cull them from time to time when my interest in them has lapsed.
I've coded my own two or three level tree structure of places I go to often and set the top of that tree as my home page. You can see pieces of it at netbook (not notebook) And the really important places like sf.org are in the bar at the top along with stuff like TinyURL, Save This, E-mail this, always available wherever I might be down in the main window.

I like the por......uh incognito setting
I like the message you get when you open an incognito tab "You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however. Going incognito doesn't affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of: Websites that collect or share information about you Internet service providers or employers that track the pages you visit Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys Surveillance by secret agents People standing behind you" Good when message writers have a sense of humour

I've been messing with if for the last week. Yes it's faster for the most part but I'm not all that impressed. Maybe when it gets more plug ins I'll like it more. I'm going to find it difficult to replace FireFox. I've really grown to like FF over the past year.
