I'm a photographer... Weddings in particular. I shoot more in a documentary style rather than lots of posed pictures.

I also do nature photography so if you want to cover a crack in your wall I might have something for you.

Default Explorer Box Tent Topped Camping Trailer

Hi, my name is Scott Chaney, I have a small company called Compact Camping Concepts. You may have seen my Subbykamper post in the Rooftop Tent thread. Our focus is Tent Topped Camping Trailers® solutions tailored to smaller, fuel-efficient vehicles. I’ve noticed some posts on the forum about tent trailers and thought people would be interested to know about our "Explorer Box" trailer.

setup-mombasa-table-sm.jpg

For DIYer’s that enjoy the pleasure and satisfaction of building something with their own two hands, there is a detailed construction manual available. Using plywood, waterproof glue, a few screws and a no-welding required bolt-together frame kit; it’s easy to create a durable, attractive, lightweight camping trailer. Don’t worry if a DIY project isn’t your thing, we’ll be happy to build a ready-to-roll one for you.

An Explorer Box is the perfect blend of compact size and room for all your camping essentials. Its design is inspired by the simplicity of vintage tent trailers and at under 400 lbs can be tow by almost any vehicle. It’s a rolling camp box of sorts. It has a kitchen / galley area on the front that includes organized, shelved storage compartments and counter space. In the rear is a large general storage compartment for bulkier items and storage containers. On top is mounted a tent unit for sleeping which can be used without loading of the trailer.

However, it’s more than just a compact trailer; it’s about a simple and "unplugged" way of camping. It is a step back in time to when tent trailer’s focused on the basics, such as a dry roof over your head for sleeping. It is for people who go camping to leave the normal hustle and bustle of life at home and take advantage of the soothing, relaxing and recharging effects a few days in nature has upon the mind and body. It’s about enjoying simple pleasures. Such as, a sunset over the lake, catching sight of a shooting star, smores or scary ghost stories by the campfire. I have to admit, I just don’t get pulling up in a beastly RV, coming out to setup your satellite dish, and then disappear inside to eat your microwave dinner.

That's pretty cool. I was in the process of building something similar to that, but I may just save some time and order your plans!

Just call or drop me an email if you would like a construction manual or a trailer built to any level of completion.

I am a full time mechanic here in Southern Vermont but I also have a detail business on the side, Precision Auto Detail. I detail many high end cars and average daily commuters as well.
Prices range from $100-$250 depending on level of detail.
Here are a few of my regular customers...

VTbimmer, I'm drooling over the E30. I have one myself and although not bad looking for being 20 years old, it's not as cherry as the one you posted. Mine's cinnabar red with pretty thrashed tan interior. Saving up for leather re-up-holstery on the front seats.

I work for Ross Video as a trainer/demo TD. Ross makes broadcast-grade equipment, mainly switchers. When people buy their stuff, I go to their facility to train them to use the stuff. I worked as a director at the CBS affiliate in Fresno, and prior to that, a cable station in Orange County and at KCBS in Los Angeles. I probably don't have anything valueable to offer to you guys as my services are not what most people need regularly. But if you have any questions regarding broadcast video, HD, video production, or just want to know how something works in my industry, feel free to shoot me an email or PM me.

As an update, my wife also decorates cakes now! Not exactly something you can ship across country, mind you :) I'll have to post a pic of the Little Einsteins rocket ship she did for our son's birthday.

I have my own part-time business, fORM.architecture.

I'm based in the West Midlands in the U.K. and I take small new-builds and extensions from inception up to Building Regulation Approval. I am a qualified Architectural Technician and have Professional Indemnity insurance of £250,000.

If anyone is thinking about doing some work to their house that would need Planning or Building Regs approval, or if you just need a bit of advice drop me a p.m. and I will be happy to help out (I only start charging when I start drawing so the advice bit is free!)

Cheers,
Tom.
