Honestly, my favorite aircraft paint job is the plain Southwest Airlines "Canyon Blue" livery.

After phase inspection and waxing, it just looks so sexy... then again, the 737-700 is sexy anyway.

Speaking of SW, I've always been fond of the Sea World livery:

I know, right?

[dork]

Fun fact... there are actually three Shamu planes. One 737-300 with retrofitted winglets, and two 737-700's with blended winglets. Shamu is the only SWA specialty paint job to be used on multiple aircraft, all the rest of them are one of a kind (Arizona One, Illinois One, Texas One, Silver One, Triple Crown, etc, etc,)

[/dork]

I am a SWA creeper.

Alaska Airlines had it painted to promote Wild Alaska Salmon...

This one was painted to promote Alaska spirit. It was a contest for Alaska school kids.

This one was to promote Disneyland of course...

and this one to promote the Make-a-wish foundation.

Yeah, Alaska and SWA have by far my favorite paint schemes. I was getting all excited a while back when SWA was looking at procuring Alaska, but they pushed it off the table in favor of AirTran.

IIRC the Salmon one was hand-gunned and took like 150 gallons of paint just for the topcoat (fish)? I remember reading about it in Airways magazine. Hrmmm
