Default very strange!! is yours the same?

ok i brought a Sigma M30 alarm for my04 sg5 xt
i had some time off work today so i decided to identafi the wires
.
how ever under the steering colum i found a green one way plug (unpuged)
its a single green plug with a blue wire witch plugs in to a orange wire.
so i plug it in and turned the key to on (not start) and the engine fans came on and ecu warning light started to flash on and off

can some one else check and see if they have the same plug (unpluged)
please.
also there is a second plug the same in the drivers side foot well below the hood pull under the plastic mold that runs along the bottom of the door.
its all a bit mad . make me wonder if there was or is a fault with the foz befor i brought it 5 weeks ago!!!!!

There are two sets of disconnected plugs in Foresters under the dash. A green set and a black set. They are used for ECU diagnostics when connected. They should normally be left disconnected. The green ones are for the diagnosis, and I think the black set are for resetting error codes or the ECU itself or something like that.

in fact you have entered diagnostics mode by connecting green wires
you're sure you didn't try to flash the ECU?
