Road Angel Gem

Anyone using one of these?

I'm considering a safety camera alert system and am wondering if the Road Angel Gem is the way to go as it covers everything.

Laser cameras
Vans
Fixed
Specs
Average speed
Your speed
Road limit
Auto updates itself
The list goes on......

What is the best one out there?

Snooper 3. Zero,I may have got it wrong way round. Saved my butt zillions of times especially on the laser guns. I drive between 25-35 miles a year.

If you have the Pioneer Avic-F930BT fitted all you have to do is register it on the Pioneer website and you should (at least you used to) get a free years subscription to POIbase which gives you all the camera locations in the UK.

Second item on this page..........
AVIC-F930BT - Software & firmware downloads - Pioneer Europe

POIbase - Welcome to POIbase

Currently software not finding the online database. - maybe down over the weekend ??

Was a MY03 FXT 5MT (280bhp/290Lbsft)
Now a MY11 WRX STi 4door (342bhp/360Lbsft)

Don, is that the unit with the rear view camera? Although my06 has rear parking sensors, my significant other has made noises about a rear view camera. Given that we have integral satnav fitted in the dash pod I'd really like to avoid having yet another screen so if we could replace oem cd/radio thats in the centre console with audio unit and still have satnav/reversing camera images on dash pod that would be ideal, although i fear it's not as easy as that.

It is easy. Fit the pioneer system and you have sat nav, hands free phone, reversing camera, iPod, radio, cd and micro SD card playback.

It's a great system and worth every penny.

Does it have camera/laser gun info?

Waze is pretty good for traffic and speed camera/traps as it gets updated by users.

The one Don said does. There is no active laser detector i.e. your getting zapped but it warns you're at a location they may be zapping you. This is handy when the road opens up and you are lured into max attack. At least you will take a second look if the machine goes ping?
