They wouldn't entertain it because the fitted told them it wouldn't fit so they ordered from the dealers.

So....
I had my screen fitted in October, when I finally got the right part number agreed with the guy on the phone he said there were only two Screens in the country... Came round to fit it and the rubber surround was creased so he agreed to refit it the next week. When he came around to fit he had a brand new screen and rubber and fitted these and took the one week old screen back for scrap. Wonder if this is why your screen is delayed as your car windscreen has the same part number as my pre facelift i.e. 65009SA010 but I heard that Pilkingtons had the pattern and could make this screen to order now? |

not sure what is going on with Autoglass as I told them it was a grey import with heating element & tint they didn't ask for part No & no problem fitting it.I donn't think it was imported from Japan.

Theory being that the retainers are OK when fitted in the factory with all the equipment but when one guy is fitting it is difficult to fit them into the correct holes and get everything flush. Anyhow, my screen is without leaks a month and a half on so... so far so good. |

I reckon the Green tinted ones are XT as the Japanese FSTI window options don't mention green tint
As always Don has a post on FSTI part numbers! FSTi windscreen without sun strip? btw I reckon 65009SA010 is with Wiper heaters and 65009SA000 is without, reason is that mine is 010 (with wiper heaters) |

They asked me if mine had the green tint and i said no, and they didn't have a windscreen with wiper heaters on, which mine has.
Just got off the phone with them, there estimated time of delivery is 19 January!!! (and thats not when they can fit it). I' said about others with the same vehicles fitted with windscreen in a matter of days and they would only quote back what the original fitter wrote on his report. Well, after a bad week so far,
Phone call on monday windscreens arrived so fitting on Wednesday. Wednesday came but the trim hadn't turned up, so rescheduled for Thursday. Thursady the trim arrived but the windscreen had been returned to the main stores depot on wednesday night instead of being held at local office, so cancelled fitting untill today. Windscreen and trim arrive, JUST AS THE FOOKIN HEAVENS OPENED UP!!!!!!. I was booked in for the mot, so i phoned and asked them if it was possible to come in a few hours early to have the screen fitted in there workshop, then obviously keep it there for it to set and then do the mot, and they've agreed. So screen all fitted now just waiting on the mot at 4.30. Then i think i will take them in a big tin a sweets just as a good will gesture. (and take them back if it fails)..lol |
