Just opened near Wantage, Oxfordshire...

Home - trackdaytoyz

Not a Subaru specialist but a couple of proper mechanics who love what they do.

They've just done a great job welding me up an exhaust for the Z3 from 3 part-good donor parts and I'll be happily taking the car back then when it next needs a service... I will use them for the Impreza too on the occasions where I don't have the time to do a job myself.

For South Manchester/Cheshire and Derbyshire areas Autotecnica in Buxton, gets my vote

Subaru Specialists, Buxton, Derbyshire & Macclesfield, Cheshire | Autotecnica Subaru Call Adam or Jamie

They were the ONLY garage to immediately diagnose a faulty component. Monks Heath Subaru (no longer a franchise) and Prosport Stockport (bad experience) did not

With the added bonus of some great driving roads to get to them

Dealer Warranty servicing recommendations around London UK

Hello all , I have just brought a forester ( 9-13 model) ( dealer 100+ miles away) and because it is still under warranty would like to get it serviced at a official dealer/servicer. Cotswold Subaru have some recommendations but are still a 70 mile drive each way for me..The others dealer/servicing places around London dont seem to get any reviews??
Any feedback would be most welcome

PS I know I need to do the intro thing and plan to do so once have taken photos this week :-)

For general servicing and parts www.subaruforesterparts.co.uk , they use the same premises as the famed garagewhifbitz ...just outside North London

Just had a new set of tyres fitted by these guys and had the opportunity to have a good chat with them and inspect some of their work.

K & M Motor Services - Wanatge, Oxfordshire

From what I saw, and the job done fitting the new tyres, I'd happily recommend them to anyone who happens to need any work done.

Souls of Olney are good for anyone in the Bucks/Beds areas. They have serviced and modded my last three Subarus are are really good. Smart mechanics, great service and the prices are pretty good too.

Have seen everything from RB5s, WR1s, CS400s and Foresters in there so I'm not alone in my trust.

DPF Removal / ECU Performance Remap

Hi, like many others I was having problems with the dpf warning light coming on every few mth and having to drive a 90 mile round trip to get it regened everytime. The auto regen never worked for me as I live in a rural area and can't find a road which is 15 mile long that I can drive at 45mph without stopping lol.

Anyway, I had the dpf removed and a stage 2 performance remap from Garage Services from Scott Auto Repairs in Workington, Cumbria he has done a good job on the car, plus he was 200 cheaper than other quotes I got.

Money well spent, the car drives and sounds a lot better, just get the odd bit of smoke when I start the car in the morning.

Before/after remap:
147bhp - 186.5bhp
258lbs-ft - 296.4lbs-ft

Subaru Forester XC
200bhp 305lbs/ft

I would recommend to AVOID ScoobyClinic. To be fair, i think they are good specialist, but they will rip you off for 1000%

Example: Changing oils in engine, rear diff, and gearbox (oils+filter+labor)=250?????? At the time when they show me receipt I thought this is a joke. Then I asked on what hour rate they work, and I heard 100 (later through the phone I heard 3 other version of this rate from 100 to 35/h).
Just to give you a hint: 5l oil Millers5w30 (eBay or even shop) ~ 40 dif/gearbox oils let say 50 and the original filter 10 = 100, so 150 for draining oil and putting a new one - ridiculous!

And the other problem with them is they don't listen to you at all! Because they want to rip you off again:) I was replacing the gearbox and asked them to swap sides the drive-shafts and re-grease them (there was very small, knocking). Any way they have to get it out when replacing gearbox, and it was easy to do it at these time. What happen, obviously they haven't done this. When I call them and asked to do it I heard it will cost min. 160?!?!?!?!?!

DIY Garage in UK

UK Foz users who want to work on their cars, and don't have the place, I have a solution for you:

DIY car repairs|self service|garage space|workshop for working on cars, vans and other vehicles - U service U repair

I rent this garage for entire weekend, and I must say it is superb!! It's run by the very nice chap Brian. He originally started this place for his soon, but as he found a nice job, they decided to run DIY garage - so all the tools, are spot on, as he bought it for himself actually. They have great equipment, and you can go there without any tools. Honestly they have everything. There is a small caffe where you can grab some hot food, and local automotive shop, where you can buy parts if you suddenly realize you forgot smth. Brian is absolutely great guy, he always will try to help if you struggle.
I would recommend this place to anyone from center of England who want to work on his FOZ.

Evening all,

Can anyone recommend a good garage in Glasgow or Ayrshire?

I've got a very noisy rear wheel on my 2001 S Turbo, I'm assuming its the wheel bearing and what with it being the time of year it is i'd like to not be fleeced!

Thanks for any advice folks =)
