You can flush the IC with isopropyl alcohol for super clean. Just let it dry for 12 hrs before fitting. You can get it very cheap on eBay from Lincoln bio fuels. It also makes amazing screen wash.

these any good

If its larger than the normal one just loosten the bolts on the mounting bars they may then give you enough play to fit the intercooler then retighten them up.

The only fixings as sucah are the two bolts one each end, or are you talking about the turbo connection y pipe on the underside?

If you look at the middle picture looking at the intercooler from drivers side the bracket its secured to has 2 bolt holes and its bolted into the closest one, prehaps yours may be bolted in the outer one, have you removed it to see if thers a closer hole to account for the shorted intercooler.

You won't need any brackets, should bolt straight on as it did on mine before I sold it on to Ben..................

There are two bolt holes on the driver/turbo side - outer hole std XT intercooler; inner hole FSTi size intercooler.

EDIT: Probably easiest to remove the passenger side bracket whilst fitting.

Don your the man! i found the other hole when i removed mine.
Most of the fins on my xt one were knackered so was a good way to go, also it has the duct that actually fits the scoop rand intercooler

There was a blue hose on it, but it was too short as I'm still running the td04 so I was very naughty and chopped up my pro drive y piece to suit!!!!

Also the alloy pipe on the back is slightly different to the one in your pic as its solid alloy y to a short 45 degree. Silicone pipe.

im a little embarrassed when i look at you engine pics vs mine and the general cleanliness of your bay vs mine!!

Theres usually a black trim covering all the gubbins up, but was removed for the work and so i can just keep my eye on things for the next few days!

Need to swap the breather pipes over as mines in better condition, and im not happy re: the fit of the turbo flexible- may have to buy a 45 deg. silicone pipe and cut too suit.

Seems good though, no leaks as i hit 18.5 psi this morning on my commute into work!!

Don't feel bad... most of us mere mortals are unable to keep our engine bays looking like Don's.
