Default DeatschWerks DW65C fuel pump HELP.

After alot of reading and thread surfing, I am going to fit an uprated fuel pump..
Ive been reading that the common walbro 255 is too big and needs a bit of work to fit so there for the dw65c is far better.

Problem is where to find one in the uk and is the wrx sti fitting kit the same for the sg9 forester?

Any help please.

This thread says the DW200 is too big, for the in tank filter............
Deatschwerks fuel pump install

and this one, the DW65c is for the EVO X
NEW! DeatschWerks DW65C and DW200 Fuelp Pumps! EVO X Direct Drop in! 100% OEM Drop-In - evolutionm.net

from my recollection of changing pumps the correct Walbro is smaller than OEM.

Fitted a walboro myself (think it was an apex group buy a couple of years ago).
Absolutely no problems at all.

One thing I would say is that the OEM univecs looks a more solid bit of kit and has almost no plastic on it unlike the Walboro.

Also, keep the OEM filter sock as per JGM instructions:
JollyGreenMonster.co.uk

I used the new Walboro sock but it IS a fair bit smaller and there has been issues with it (I think JGM mentioned in a forum post that he had seen one suck itself closed and cause fuel starvation).

Also, mine is v v quiet but I know some mention a whine from the walboro.

Dan, you have an 'earlier forester' I think, as looking at Superacerc's garage, his car is an SH.
SG it is a drop in...

OK so after all the confussion, mainly all mine!
anybody know anything about HRC pumps,
HRC Performance Subaru Impreza STI WRX 255 LPH fuel pump - upto 500BHP | eBay
After reading so many negatives about the walbro and its hi pitched whistle and limited warantees etc, i'm justlooking at some of the alternatives.

Also if fitting a new fuel pump does there need to be a forester specific fitting kit or is it the same as a 2.5 sti impreza?

No fitting kit needed as it's a straight swap.
Probably only part needed is the star washer for fitting the foot filter.

Mmm... heard some Impreza owners complaining that Walbro 255 was too noisy compared to OEM. Always wondered if it's true

Well it might be because I am getting old and have high frequency hearing loss or something but I have never heard my Walboro.

Would be cool if they made a higher flow univecs pump as the oem univecs looks bomb proof compared to the Walboro.

Just ordered the HRC 255 pump (£50 all in), Theres a few guys who have them fitted from SC, and ther'ye mare than happy, and all of them said they're definatly quieter than the walbro and with a 2yr warantee cant be bad. Filters on its way from graham goode racing, so pending on there arrival and if i can use up some fuel as tank is brimming at the minute, 3 guesses to what i will be up to at the weekend.

I think the fuel pump swap is pretty much straight forward but if anyone has any tips, feel free.
