Default Could I ask a favour please?

Hi guys,
I'm still struggling to sort this misfire. Would any of you happen to have a spare couple of good coil packs for my 2.5XT I could borrow to see if it is one of mine that is faulty? They are Diamond FK0186 packs. I'd refund postage obviously
I'd like to do at side a time, then narrow it down if one side is rectified by the change. Then I'll buy a replacement if this is the problem. I'd rather not spend out on something that may not be the solution! I could spend my £60's in better ways if you follow my drift

Do you have any logs of the misfire? What cylinder(s)?

I can't help you with coil packs but I've helped analyse misfires through logs.

:)

No, nothing logged in code report. Just a minor miss. But a major irritation

Thanks for the offer guys, but I've got a code reader to cancel my Lamda CEL codes when they occur. I just need some coil packs as the miss is not reporting as an error that would be easy!

Have you tried taking logs with a laptop or phone?
If you have an android phone, you can take logs of all sorts of things with Torque App £2.95 and a bluetooth OBD reader £9ish - It's what I use on mine

I don't mean logging error codes, but logging what's going on normally as you drive

How is this going to help if the codes are not present and shown with a hand held device? The fuelling was checked on the recent RR session and was said to be "spot on". I'm not trying to be negative, just trying to understand what all this extra info will tell me?

Same missfire as mine, in my case was a cracked spark plug, the white part.... worth a try.

A RomRaider log may tell you what cylinder and when and why you have the misfire.

Changed them already , but thanks

Sorry, but what is a "RomRaider" ? OK reccy done, hmmm, laptop diagnostics+engine tweaking via computers isn't something I'm too keen on doing. I'm not that computer savvy! W.P. no probs, but code & data!

You don't have to do the tweaking bit, but I can understand your reluctance... I'm not great with anything beyond standard computer matters.

Might be worth a pm to Legacydan (or phone Surrey Subaru Specialists - same effect!) to see if he has some coils you could try. Obviously he has a business to run, but he's a very helpful chap and may be able to shed some light on the issue in any event.

He's not a million miles from you either.
