all depends on how deep your pockets are.

wouldnt do the AVCR and would go for the SBC as above, £60 not £300. Gives you the ability to switch the boost between high and low.

If your doing the exhaust, then your choice of which bits you replace and what you replace it with will depends on the noise you have. Mines not overly loud but the amount of motorway miles I do is minute, about 3,000 miles. So noise is not super important but it does drone at the speed limit. H&S back box, unsilenced centre section and sport cat down pipe. however to get the best from any mods such as this or the turbo you'd need the car remapping.

LPG is your friend, in power as well as economy.
Come MOT time , lpg cars have slightly relaxed rules for co2 levels, and being a very clean fuel, will pass the emissions test without a cat. you can therefore run a full decat system, and provided you "present" the car for testing in lpg mode you will be OK.
Also, LPG is 112RON, as opposed to a puny 100 RON for Shell's finest. It should be fine for higher levels of boost, depending on the system. "Standard" lpg systems are usually OK up to 200bhp for 4 cylinders, although 300-350 bhp lpg scoobies are not uncommon. Bigger injectors and vaporiser may be necessary. Often , if the gas system is struggling to meet demand, it will cut back to petrol automatically.

I am currently fitting an LPG system to my S-turbo. It will run a TD04 and about 0.8 bar boost. I don't intend getting a remap in the near future, but may do sometime, if it starts to get boring!
Apparently, Jolly Green Monster has some experience of mapping gas guzzlers, so it might be worth contacting him.
Whatever you do, make sure you run Flashlube, or your valve seats will disappear!

Thanks very much to everyone for the fantastic advice.

Cheers for that link Simon.

I'm going to go away and have a think now - I'll let you know what mods I go for.

The first mod is a boot liner to stop the dog from trashing the carpets!

Cheers
Dave

Very similar smart-arse - twice as thick and available in 1.5 metre wide rolls though, so better for cutting to size in car boots.

Pupps ProFleece Veterinary Bedding on the Roll. UK online shop

If you want a cheap TD04 - keep an eye on Scoobynet, one of the Impreza "sheep" is bound to be flogging one

I picked mine up for £25 from a local owners club site, cant complain at that (not even half of the £60 rule!)

I have the choice of 10 from GRD, just need to get round there and pick one up, only 1 min in the car or 5 mins walking

Really good. Alfie has shredded the vetbed but not touched this.
The one is my car was charcoal I believe - it's much darker than the light grey of vetbed, so it must be the bright sun making it look like that.
