To sleep or to SLEEP

Hey all.

I'm on a fence here. I have a blacked-out sleeper theme going, which I love. More than a few enthusiasts have pointed out that they like that the FXT looks like any other, and other than hearing the exhaust (its a louder-than-normal Invidia Q300) and the wheels, they'd never look twice at it.

I'm getting a FMIC this week and I was thinking I could keep with the sleeper theme and delete the hood scoop by going with an NA hood. Options are a very dark carbon fiber offering for $480 (dark enough to only notice it isn't metal if you are up close and paying attention), an OEM for $350 (+ paint), an aftermarket for $200 + paint, finding someone to trade straight across (possibly + paint, but I'd rather get the same factory color) or simply keeping what I've got.

So, as the poll suggests, what are your thoughts? Keep the existing hood (at this point non functional) and sleeper mode or taking a few Valium and Ambien and going FULL SLEEPER by deleting the hood?

Some other route? Please vote the 3rd option and reply here or PM me.

Thanks!!

Normally I would say go with the NA hood, but like Arthrogrian19 said, most people don't even notice the differences between the XT and NA unless they are a subie enthusiast.

Either will look good, but I'd go with the XT hood, unless you can find a straight swap in the same color. If it's no cost, super-sleeper.

Do NA hood or like this
His scoop is integrated into the hood, so he can't pop it off. I think 2.5x_sleeper initially mentioned something like that, until he realized that wouldn't work.

2001 Subaru Forester S is correct. I can take the front part of the scoop off, but it still leaves a forward facing opening on a slight rise.

I'm a little sad about that BTW. The shop that did the FMIC was going to install some resonators, but there wasn't a piece of pipe long enough to put even the smallest resonator they recommended in (12"). So for now it'll still have that rumble, which I don't really want. It sounds nice sometimes, but usually it's too loud. I need to get a different exhaust. Q300 mufflers don't like my FXT.
