spare tire

my sister's forester ran over some debris and torn the left rear tire. She stopped at a gas station and called for my help. I put on a spare for her. When I took the wheel and a spare (used) tire for replacement, the tech noticed the rim is damaged. Now that I've ordered a (re-conditioned) one online, it won't come probably until next week.

Is it safe to drive the car at least to work (app. 14 mile each way) until we can get the full size back on?

thanks

I personally would not want to put more than say 25 miles on the donut if that is what is on right now. It should be in the rear.

An option might be to buy a wheel at subaru and put a used tire on there (in the rear_) then you will have a full size spare for the future. Which I think is a requirement.

If its an auto the spare fuse should be put in to disable AWD

Be careful what you wish for.

Thanks for the advise.

I'm going to swap my wheels with hers. Mine is also 17". I'll have to check if they'll fit.
