Hi All,
I have about 6,200 Kms on my new baby ...I can't find any reference to this in the owners manual ....on my old car...I tended to rotate the tires every 12,000 kms......would that be the proper amount of kms before I should rotate the tires?

I rotate mine twice a year - spring and fall. I drive abut 20,000kms/year. I plan on getting snow tires and rims which will make it a no-brainer.

It would be a good idea to check tread depth at the time you rotate. If front and back aren't wearing at the same rate, you might want to adjust your rotation schedule accordingly. The specification for difference in circumference is an awfully tight one, which translates into just above 1/32" difference in tread depth.

I technically rotate mine every 6 months. I have a winter setup and a summer setup so I mark them when they come off so that I can rotate them properly when they go back on.

I should really rotate mine about every 2k with the way I take corners.. but I usually just do that whenever I change wheels/tires for summer/winter auto x etc.

Personally, I now rotate each oil change.
However, I am rotating 6 wheels, not 4. Spares > front, front > rear, rear > spares. To keep all 6 within tolerance I need to rotate more often.

I do it every 3750 miles, with a 5 tire rotation. Measurements of tread depth have shown that rotating them this often is beneficial.

Being a big proponent of frequent rotation, my vote goes to SubaJew. It helps if your tire people (mine were Sears) do rotations for free, and free alignment checks...
And the 6 tire system also makes sense, especially for me, having decided to travel the AlCan highway with two spares. -Quick
