Default Whiteline Subframe Locking Bolts

This should be added to the must do list for FXT owners along with upgraded RSB and STi springs. Install is pretty straight forward. The results are a a much more solid feeling rear end. The only way I can describe it is that I can feel what the rear end is doing now.

Thanks to The Wraith for going over the install with me.

Do it! No noticeable increase in NVH for me.

Glad you got them in and it wasn't a PITA. Drive them a few days and they'll become even more noticeable. Not in a bad way, but a wow! kinda way...

goes well with the subframe stabilizer bushings, though I think that they add significant NVH when used together (MMMMmmmmmmmmm noise when engine braking).

Another alternative:

Go to the bottom of the page; $30.00.

This is a bolt that connects 2 parts of the subframe together. Stock they are mounted with botls with a bushing which gives.

I just wanted to add to this review. I agree with Zumble, this is a must. Even my wife said, wow you did this with $30? A decent way to describe it is more connected not just in the rear but also in the front because turning seems more responsive (since the rear doesn't give anymore). An example of how effective it is, I have a few on ramps I hit daily and I'm relatively aggressive at speed. There's bumps on them and I know the rear feels like it gives and shifts around when I go over them. That was minimized with a RSB. Now it seems it's completely solid with almost no shifting since I've used these bolts. Makes sense since both the top part of the rear frame is connected with the RSB and the bottom sub frame is now effectively 1 peice.

Supposedly STis don't benefit much from this mod because they come with solid subframes. So, by doing this we are moving one step closer to having a sti suspension. The STi has a bunch of little things to make it what it is... This is one of the things. Install is really easy (well, with some muscle) and it's only 30 bucks.. =)

I was going to buy these but then the vendor told me that whiteline does not recommend leaving these in all the time. Is this a crash worthiness issue?
