Hehe, why not? You're the reason I said "Possibly..." to RB.

But after reading the resolution, it doens't sound too bad at all.

Don't waste your money on bling rotors. There's just no proof that they offer any improvement over stock besides the seller's splashy website, nothing empirical.
Nah, I don't care about bling in this department. I woulda gone with STi takes-offs if that were the case. I just want a good set that won't warp under the Suby 4-pots.

After more research, I won't be going with cross-drilled for sure. Still debating blanks vs. slotted.

OK my box (which is a red brembo box) says B25646 on one and just 25646 on the other. I marked both boxes with an XT. Not sure if that helps or not.

So these will work with the Suby 4-pots?

EDIT: NM, just looked at your car's thread. Answered my own question.

Just remember the rear 2 pots use a 290x18mm rotor vs. the 266x10 rotor the Stock XT setup uses. You will have to remove the dust shield to fit a 290mm rotor in the rear, but it is worth it.

Oh yeah, I know that (thanks to Mike, there). But I'm still running stock rears for the time being. Haven't upgraded to the 2-pot rears just yet. Getting these taken care of first and then I'll do that.

There is theory that supports they work, and in practice I've noticed positive changes in wet braking as well as decreased fade.

As for companies, I've been using RacingBrake for years. I used them on my old Legacy, which was punished on a more than daily basis. I use them on my Forester too, and I've been nothing but pleased with them for towing and off-roading.

I'd recommend them to anyone!

Phil

I've never installed aftermarket rotors on a car. So I'm curious what differences you've noticed between the cross drilled and slotted rotors for daily-driver street use?

My goal is to minimize any fading and wet weather braking issues in a hot and humid environment like Houston.

Take Care,
David Baldock

Well all anecdotes aside, unless you're taking your car to the track regularly it's a waste of money to get anything other than blanks.

Believe me, I don't get any brownie points for recommending cheaper alternatives. But yeah, if you're not affected by our economy than spend away!

Actually now that you mention "Racing Brake" LOL, their reply as to how they addressed front bias with their big brake kit was to buy more of their product. How well engineered is it if you have to buy another kit to make them stop better than stock?

Smart man. The Brembos have their place by reducing fade but that's not going to happen unless you track your car. But then you still have to address the front bias.

Did you try to rebed your pads?

One of the most common upgrades to help with the bias is the Legacy H6 rear upgrade. The Racing Brake rear BBK was designed after the H6 upgrade, but it uses better rotors, a longer bracket that allows better pad contact, and comes in at a price CHEAPER than the H6 upgrade. A big reason why I personally went with Racing Brake products was for the well designed and cost effective rear kit. It definitely helped give a more balance feel to my car when braking.

I'm well aware of the Legacy upgrade. My point was that you can spend a lot of money on a one size fits all front BBK like "Racing Brakes" LOL, and still have brakes that don't perform any better than stock if not worse.

Stop Tech designs thieir BBKs to work without buying other products and make you aware of it upfront.

I'm not quite following you on that. What are these "other products" you are refering too? What do you mean by "one size fits all BBK?"

I personally did not upsize my fronts, as I wanted to maintain the ability to use 16" winter wheels. I did however want to upgrade the rear so they actually do a bit of work compared to before. Racing Brake was the only company that offered a solution to do so in an efficent manner without spending a ton of cash.
