sea-scooby will become famous soon enough
Default Seattle area: Anyone have an 09 Forester yet?

I'm looking for someone with an 09 Forester. I'd like to take a look at a few things on one. I'm looking to design a sub kit for an 09 and I'd love to check out a few locations. If a good spot is found, you would get the prototype sub kit for just the cost of materials.

I'd also really like to try a full size spare/tub in one to see if it will fit, and I'd like to check out the speaker locations to see how much depth and what type of mounting is used.

If you have an 09 or know anyone who does and are interested let me know!

Default Is Labor Day Weekend Soon Enough?

If not, PM me and perhaps we can set up a peek earlier than that.......

Safe to assume when you say "look at a few things" that its a non-destructive investigation?

I'm having a BBQ on either Saturday or Sunday of Labor day weekend. Maybe you can come meet some locals and I can check out your 09 and see what is possible. No damage will be done to your vehicle, I just want to pop off a few panels and take a look see.

Hey, Chris. While you're at it, see if you can check the fit of older cargo area liners in the 2009s. This would be good info to have available here, especially since the SF ones are going so cheap now.

Will do. Think it will be way off though. I also want to see if a full size spare fits.

I have a new '09. Where in Renton are you located? I live in Lake Stevens but work in south Everett. Time needed to "explore"?

I'm about 3 minutes up the hill from where 405 and 167 meet.

I'd like to checkout an 09 for about and hour and compare a few things and take some measurements. If there is potential for a nice subwoofer solution, then I would need one for 4-6 hours to test fit my design and make a prototype. The person who let me use their car for the prototype would get one for free as long as I could take pix of it and use those pix as needed.

I'd like to create a kit for the 09 along the lines of what I made for the 03-08 Foresters.
How to: Install Sea-Scooby sub kit

Looks like you have some takers already, but damn I'm interested in a kit if you get one together. That is a clean install!

I have a dual 8" setup in my car and I love it when people say, "that sounds good" and I tell them to check out my sub box. they open the hatch too...nothing but open floor and cargo nets.

Default 09 in Eastern WA

I bought the 09 2.5x ll bean edition black with black leather and yet to see another 09 driving around. I am also looking to get some subs installed....would like to have a meet up group or something too...that would be fun

I just brought home the 09 2.5 Limited Black with Black Interior on Sunday. It's going to be a pain to keep that black clean, but it should be easier to wash then the Tahoe we gave to the dealer.

Definitely a big change going from a full size suv 8 cylinder to the tiny Forester 4 banger, but I am so far really enjoying this car. My wife didn't really want to give up her Tahoe, but she seems to like the Forester a lot and that is what is most important.

I haven't seen any 09's driving around this area either.

We're down near Tacoma and started seeing them around about 6 weeks ago. I see at least one a day now. The Newport Blue color seems very popular around here. Most of the license plate holders have been from Subaru of Puyallup. That doesn't bode well for Bruce Titus in Tacoma. I stopped by there to look the other day and the saleswoman didn't know squat about the car. Drove an XT yesterday at Hanson in Olympia but they are really high on price. Looks like it will come down to Chaplin's and Puyallup for what we want.
