Registering out of state FXT in CA?

I am looking to purchase an 06 FXT, probably from out of state. Is there anything about the smog check or registration process that could be a problem in California? Other than the smog check and paying the DMV fees, is there anything I should be aware of.

i want to know how it works for a non-CA vehicle in regards to passing CA emissions.

I spoke to a customer service rep at Subaru of America and if you give them a VIN, they can tell you if the vehicle is CA emissions compliant. Luckily, the one I am looking at is. She also said MOST 2007 and 2008 models are 50 state emissions compliant.
