Many thanks to piemaster for the great company and the delicious pies! This was a serious night drive, it was almost 5 am when I finally crawled into bed this morning.
Pics will be up soon, I'm still downloading from my camera.I think photography-wise this was a big success! We couldn't have asked for better conditions. The light haze and clouds just added to the mood, I think! |

Beautiful pictures. I've done 175 many times in my truck when I used to go off-roading and dirt-biking on the other side of the lake. Haven't done it in the Subaru yet.
Also, the Hopland Inn has a nice restaurant downstairs, very good food and service. Stan |

^^ yeah, 175 is a fun road! We had dinner at TNT (Mexican restaurant) in Lakeport, out on the patio right on the water. Then we drove on to the other side of the lake to the "perch", where the last three pics were taken.
It actually worked out in our favor that there were only 3 of us because we were able to spend a good hour and a half up there without being noticed. Upon our return to Santa Rosa around 4 am we encountered a little problem, because Roo had left the SVX in the parking lot at the Wells Fargo Center. We were unaware that they closed the gates at night, so we had to leave her there until morning. Roo had other ideas about getting her out of the lot, but we didn't want to wake Donna Summer's entourage in the tour bus/luxury RV that was parked right in front of the closed gate. They would've probably called security on us rather quickly! |
