Default Mann Engineering Track Day at Thunderhill Raceway, June 20th

We are proud to announce that we will be putting on a track day hosted by our favorite Open Track Club, Unlimited Laps. We would also like to thank the local Subaru dealers for their efforts in helping us out with this event as well. There will be giveaways available and we will be having two cars there for ride alongs. There will be a 2008 STI and a 2008 WRX. Dealers will have representatives there to answer any questions you have of the cars and there will be an SPT/STI parts display trailer for you all to drool at. :P

More details about the events will follow shortly.

This event is to get Subaru owners a feel of what their cars can do on the track. This is event is meant to be a learning experience. Now that you have spent the time and money on your car, this is an opportunity to see what it can do. :) In addition, this event is to show our Subie love as a community in the Bay Area. We would like to keep this to a Subaru only event.

Parts Discount for Participants:
We will also be doing discounts off parts for participants. We will take 10% OFF parts which include batteries, Mintex Xtreme Pads, DBA Rotors, Samco Hoses, Swift Springs, and AP Racing Big Brake Kits. We will check to see if your name is on our participant list before we provide any quotation. If your name is not on our registered list, we will quote you full prices from our website. Prices do not include sales tax.

Event Date: June 20, 2008
Location: Thunderhill Raceway located in Willows, CA
Entry Fee: 100USD
Late Entry Fee: 150USD

Sweet deal! Wish I had known sooner... Roo and I are already signed up for the NASA track day on June 7-8 at T-hill.

Hmm, only 2791 miles... one way... and I'd need to rent some Subaru when I get there.

That would be hilarious. Bring a bunch of parts. Wheels with R-Comps, coilovers, brakes, turbo, UTEC, exhaust, etc. Rent some kind of turbocharged Subaru (or remove Turbo and UTEC from the list and get an N/A). Mod it in the parking lot. Race it. Back to stock. Return it!

Fly out, do one of those 24hr test drives, mod car, race, demod and return it, then fly home!

I am interested, working out the details before I register.

Is it okay to have a visitor and a dog attend and watch? How bad is a track day on tires, should I use the stock rims with Geolanders instead?

Stan,

Vistors are more than welcome. Just make sure to see if they will need lunch or not. I believe dogs are okay as long as they are on a leash at all times.

Tire life will vary on how hard you drive your car. I would not recommend using the Geolanders.

Thanks,
Gary

Agree on the Geos... you want some rubber that sticks. Your tires will be ok if you limit the amount of time you spend sideways.

Oh man, now you guys make me want to reschedule and attend this track day rather than the earlier one... That'd be sweet if we could get a group of Foresters together.

Yep, go with something a little stickier than the Geos.

$100 is a bargain. It's not uncommon for riders to spend $275-$300 for a motorbike track day. This is dirt cheap.

May have to take a day off from work for this one. I'm due for a comp day after all the weekends I've been working lately - only problem is that I may be out of the country, but there is no way to know for sure until more time has elapsed... hmm...
