Hey all, I am a new Forester owner. Just picked up a 2003 Forester with 115k miles and I love it! I notice however that when the car is in drive, it idles at around 300 which seems kind of low to me (based on previous owned vehicles) but I am wondering if that is how Subaru's idle. When the A/C is on, it still idles that low and sometimes jumps to 500 when the fan kicks on.
Is this normal? |

No. Should be about 800 rpm, I would guess. Tach could be off. Check with OBD.

On Board Diagnostic meter. Its the plug under the steering wheel. Its possible Autozone or Advance auto will read it...although they may only read codes.
