What Feature Are You Glad the Forester Does NOT Have?

For me, it's idle stop. Completely infuriating "feature" to have. Adds complexity, larger starter and battery, but really doesn't save much fuel. Subaru, NEVER put this on your cars, please.

(I'm referring to design items, not options or trims that you can select.)

Yes. I hate this thing. Though it can be turned off, it is still annoying as all hell.

I know nothing.

Stop/start tech is inevitable as that is shown to improve MPG, even with the negative feedback from many users it helps makers to better meet CAFE standards.

Too late, it's on the Oz Fozzes.

True, but not on any of the Subarus that have the high torque CVT (ie. Liberty 3.6R, Outback 3.6R & diesel CVT, Foz XT & diesel CVT, WRX CVT, Levorg CVT). Manuals don’t appear to have it either.

Auto stop/start would be one stupid function that I would really dislike.

Auto lock. Although I'm pretty sure it's coming on the next gen Forester.

I hate Auto Lock also, but so long as they give me the option to switch it off I will be as happy as a clam in mud....Ditto for Auto Headlights with wipers on. Enough owners prefer these two "features" that it can make the Forester more attractive to some on resale- just give us a choice for those of us that don't.

I agree, & any option like that should be so that it doesn't reset to the default setting whenever the vehicle is re-started. It should remain in the driver’s preferred setting until manually changed.

I'm very happy that the Foresters have never featured the original Tribeca pig nose!
