Well last night, I took it to the NorthNevada Rally and was part of the start crew for Stage 2. Drifted on the course and was so glad I have a skid pad... I'd hate to imagine how I would've gotten home without one...

Washed & Polished my '04 FXT for the first time. Tried out Turtle Wax Ice Polish and it works great on Black Java Pearl and very easy to Apply & Buff. Used Turtle Wax tire shine through out engine bay after degreasing / steam clean with simple green. Tire shine works great on those hard to reach areas and tight spots.

Busy day on spent on my wifes new daily driver 2010 XT, installed the following stuff today:
Splash guards body side mouldings bumper cover upper strut tower brace I put allot of thought into the boost gauge installation over the last week I think it came out great. The gauge is a pro-sport peak/warn boost guage in an autometer 2 1/16" cup velcrowed to the dash, no holes were drilled. |

Changed Subed's oil after yesterday's romp through the twisties. After draining the old oil, I noticed that I had marked down the mileage of the last oil change on the filter. It read 135k. The odo now reads 146k. Oops... 11k between changes - I think I lost track of things for a little while there.
Too bad I had already drained all the oil, or I would've taken a sample and sent it to Blackstone, just for grins and giggles. |

+1 Makes the color on the Foz look amazing!
Oh, yeah, I drained out tranny fluid and put in the Motul/Redline mix. I am pleased with the difference!

NICE SHOT for sure! HDR? What camera?
I went off-roading for the first time this weekend. Nothing crazy, just BFE campsite-mountain trails. I kinda liked the Forester all dirty like that ..But now...since I'm back in the urban life, she must be cleaned.Performance wise...I could definitely hang with the fellow impreza around them turns. I also almost died. Some *** didn't know he should not take turns super fast with 4 people in the car (oh...weight affects performance??). We skid and then hit gravel on the side of the road (read, off the road) and swerved back on and, luckily, he was able to control it. He got a lot of **** for doing that...

HDR is for High Dynamic Range photography. It puts details in what you'd otherwise see bleached out or black from the shadows.
Check out these samples here. I just have the Canon XSI, though most SLR's can do it. You need a camera that saves pics in RAW files, and can do AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing), which is pretty common nowadays. It's basically taking a picture along with an overexposed and an underexposed duplicate (taken by the AEB mode, and requires a tripod or a steady hand since you need all three lined up with no change), and a program (like Photoshop or Photomatix) merges all three, taking the best parts of each. It can be done with JPEG files, but JPEGs can cut off some of the colour details with its 8-bit limit, while RAW files use the camera's full 14 or 16 bit colour range. I just used a few limited tools, but the really good guys can make them look pretty sweet.. Click on the one below for a decent source..
