Thought it would be fun to start a thread on everyday things we do here and there to our beloved Subarus. The weather is getting nicer, so I'm sure we will all be outside more tinkering on our cars.

Today has been a busy day for me! Got my Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires in yesterday from Tirerack for the Sti and had them mounted and balanced today by a real cool guy off of Nasioc. If anyone wants his info in the PNW PM me. He runs a legit business out of his home doing tire stuff n such, for a really good deal. But let me tell ya, these tires are STICKY!!! They pick up gravel everywhere but they are SOOOoo nice! It feels like a different car
When I got back from joyriding the STi in it's new tires, I washed the Forester (for the second time this week) and finally got around to hand waxing it. Looks pretty, but boy is there a lot of bumps and bruises on it!
What did you guys do to the subarus today??
I was able to successfully exchange the 2014 OEM Yokohama Geolandar 91F's for Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S with no charge to me (other than the mounting/service fees at the local Discount Tire).
Long story short, Yokohama offered 100% Goodwill on the OEM tires as long as the alternative tire was equal to or less than the OEM price.
Yes it is. (And with how close you are to me, I'm surprised I haven't seen you around yet. Maybe I have and not known with all the SH Foresters around.)
I installed my OEM color match side molding. Easy one hour job. But first I used a clay bar on the door finish to prep the surface. After installing I put a coat of Collinite 845 on the finish and new moldings.
Next up, mount my SiriusXM receiver in the center front console and pull the interior apart to hide all the wires.
Had to get my TPMS sensors reset this morning. The winter tires are working impressively. I am able to get up my sloped driveway with zero drama, a big difference from last year in a 4WD and all seasons.
I didn't do this today, but in the last two weekends I've done the following:
Spark Plugs
Rear dif + Front dif and tranny fluids swapped for Redline.
Oil Change
Brake Flush
Replaced all 4 struts (Why oh why did subaru decide to make it necessary to disconnect brake lines to change the struts?!)
Coming up this weekend:
Valve cover gaskets/spark tube seals
New headunit
Dig around in the dash to figure out why the $#%@ my center vents don't work.
And a detail if I'm feeling ambitious.
Getting further along on the vinyl wrap. Hope to have it done Friday evening. The matte lime green really makes the body lines stand out Also having the windows limo tinted. Can't wait to start the process of trying to find some rims for it.
Started running the wires for my SiriusXM receiver. I got antenna wire run under the rear hatch weather seal. Removed rear seat and started removing lower trim panels on passenger side to run the wire to the front. That's it for today, time for some turkey. I'll finish work tomorrow.
Mounted General Altimax Arctic snow tires 215-65-16 on 16x6.5 steel rims. the whole thing took me about 1/2 hour using the OEM jack and lug wrench. The TPMS system took 6 miles of test-drive to realize there were no sensors on the new wheels...the swap took about 1/4 off ride height and speedo is off about 1.5-2 mph @ 60 MPH
I like the look. I think ill do the same when I get a paint job in the spring.
