Default *No Disrespect* Why is the Forester Considered a Lesbian Car?

A few months ago my friend told me Foresters were a Lesbian car. At 1st I thought he was just starting a friendly feud because he has an STi and we go back and forth on who's is faster. I did read the main article online but why is it such a hype? In no way am I being rude or ignorant, I truely want to know.

All I got from the article is that it was a versatile, reliable car (XT fixes the slow problem).

Well, I don't know how it started, but I'm not a lesbian I'm a 26 y/o male that loves the ladies, with taste because I am married!

I don't see how a specific demographic group would all or mostly be driving one vehicle! That is the argument I would start with your friend. (not an actual fight, but like a lawyer...presenting ideas)

I'm pretty sure all lesbian Forester owners are hot too! So that is a good thing!!!

just my .02

Cool

I've heard that it also applies to the OB as well...... Doesen't mean anything to me if I'm honest.

This is the best I can find.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru Scroll down to 'Cultural References'.

This should answer your question. The 2006 Foz is #1.

i wonder if there's a top ten list for white guys in their 30's who like women.

Having lived in the state that makes New Hampshire nervous for more than a few years I've seen my share of lesbian couples. It seems that in this area they tend to drive either big SUVs or Subarus. At the dealer I work for there is about a 50/50 split among the lesiban community between the Outback and the Forester.

Another reason is that Martina Navratalova (sp) the famous lesbian tennis star was a celebrity endorser of the Forester.

^^^^^^^^^ you beat me to it.

Didn't this all start when there was a well known lesbian, Martina Navratalova to be exact, who was a spokesperson for Subaru and the Forester? This is what I am remembering. Back then, I did not own a Subaru nor did I ever consider any vehicle in the lineup to be a lesbian only car.

Ford ranger, jeep wrangler, not necessarily the forester, but outbacks for sure, these seem to be the preferred car for today's lesbian.

My bus passes buy the Charlotte Lesbian/Gay center here in town. There is usually 2 or 3 Foresters in the parking lot. Always a white 98 one in the lot.

I think Lesbians were into Subarus before Martina was a spokesperson but w/ the Lesbian Celebrity backing it, it just shot up from there.

If he has an STi and you have an (unmodified) FXT, he has the faster car and you can stop arguing. (I know. I've had both.)

Maybe that will decrease his tendency to make stupid comments such as the one that started this ridiculous thread. HPH

This has been covered a gazillion times, but Subaru was one of the first and very few companies that figured out early on how to tap into the gay and lesbian markets, not only by targeting their product to gay & lesbian lifestyles, but also by actively supporting their causes:
