That is one impressive list! a true petrol head (meant - of course - in the nicest possible way!).

My list (in highlights):

First car: Morris Mini 850 (British Racing Green with Speedlite wheels = very nice!)

Morris Mini 1275 Special GT (wheel spin in 3rd gear any-one?) - my fastest car to 50 kmh before the FXT

Alfa Romeo GTV (Guigiaro, not Bertone) bought 2nd hand, had it for 14 years and 325.000 km and it is still runing! - rather unusual I think for that model

Ford Sierra 2.0 CLX Wagon ("Stationcar" in continental European) mostly the wife's after child No 2 w/accessories fitted badly in the GTV :-)

Renault Scenic (wifey's - when child No 3 arrived - bought from my neighbour after he had his child No 4; I should have known, see below)

Ford Galaxy MPV (wifey's after child No 4 & 5)

Fiat Panda (new style - really really funny; I could be tempted to buy a 4X4 Panda -I think it outperformed a Hummer in an off-road test recently)

Lancia Delta integrale (best driving car ever, cf: )

Audi A2 (great fun, extremely frugal: ~1.6 l/100 km on the highway)

Audi A8 (nicest car ever for long drives)

Thanks for the compliment...my wife refers to it as my disease which sounds a lot worse but is probably more accurate! I have to tell you that I have been keeping my eyes open for a couple of cars on your list! The earlier Alfa GTV's are great little cars, but hard to find one in good condition for a decent price. I would also love to find a Lancia Delta Ingrale as well, but I think they are few and far between in the states..if any? I think there is a 25 year window for being able to import cars into the US without federalization, so maybe at some point I will be able to get one shipped in.

Default Cars I've bought

My personal resume. I'm 31-

87 Volkswagen Quantum Syncro wagon - Would not start in cold weather; sort of defeats the whole syncro thing...

90 Honda Accord 4 dr - early Japanese production with 5 sp; mega-reliable with ugly blue/blue interior color scheme.

89 Audi 100 wagon - okay car with the worst climate control system ever.

91 Audi 90quat 20v - with optional factory sport suspension and silk sport seats. 20v inline 5 a great sounding engine above 4500 rpm. Grippiest car ever...

00 Honda Accord V6 Coupe - Good car and engine. But boring. Ugly fake wood on this EX model. HUGE turning radius.

00 BMW Z3 2.3 - Torquey and reliable. Wanted a MR2 spyder but ended up here instead. People like to cut you off when you drive a BMW. A lot:-x

06 Forester - Its ski time!

I notice a Euro to Japanese to Euro to Japanese pattern here. When I look my first and last car, I see I have come full circle...

1963 Chevy Nova II w/ a 283 bored 30 over, never ran.. was a basket case.
1963 Chevy Impala SS 283 w/ 2 sp Powerglide.
1981 BMW 325i
1992 Chevy S-10
1991 Honda CBR 600 F2
1991 5.0 Mustang LX hatchback
1997 Mustang Cobra
1998 Nissan Maxima
1991 5.0 Mustang LX hatchback
2004 Subaru Forester XT

'91 5.0 Mustang LX hatchback, the second one I owned, was the most fun. Lots of money put into suspension and used to do some club racing in a street car class. A couple of HPDE's in it too. Instant torque and could easily throttle oversteer. :-)

Looks like I might be the least, especially over a decent period of time.
Ive only ever owned 3 cars, all were bought new.
1988 Nissan Pulsar (with a Holden engine)
1991 Nissan NX
2004 Forester XT

In another year it will be 3 cars over 20 years.
And I had the NX for the best part of 14 years - although I went through something like 6 motorbikes in that same time.

Heh. My first car was a 1988 Ford Tempo GL that my grandfather insisted on buying me. Oy! After that died, I got a 1994 Ford Taurus, and then a 2001 Taurus (idjit) and finally when I grew to loathe my Taurus enough to pay it off in advance last summer and take a big loss on it, I got my XT. :D
