OK, Now I'm only 25, so this is a lengthy list for me, as I have only had my license for only 9 years. This is in order of purchase.

1) 86 Chevy Monte Carlo (4.3l V6) - 1st car. purchased well used with 210K miles. Rebuilt engine and trans to drive.
2) 94 Ford Escort GT (One of my favorite cars!)
3) 98 Plymouth Breeze (Purchased used with 53K miles, traded in 1.5 years later with 126K miles.)
4) 03 Subaru Baja (Purchased new, traded in with ~80K miles.)
5) 68 Chrysler New Yorker 4dr hardtop (Purchased from my neighbor as something to tinker with. This started a BIG MISTAKE Currently is titled, insured, runs and drives; waiting to get restored.)
6) 06 Subaru Forester XT Limited (My first stick-shift car! My daily driver. Traded my Baja for this car.)
7) 68 Buick Electra 225 Custom Convertible (my show car. First car purchased off of eBay)
8) 99 GMC Sienna 1500K (purchased to replace my dad's 89 Dodge Ram truck that I had acquired sometime through the mix. Needed something better to haul with.)
9) 68 Chrysler 300 2dr hardtop (currently runs and drives, but waiting to get restored. Second car purchased off of eBay.)
10-12) 67 Chrysler 300 4dr hardtop; 67 Chrysler Newport 2dr hardtop; 67 Chrysler Newport Custom 4dr sedan, ALL PART CARS, but I have titles for. None currently run.

I know that this doesn't top some people on this list, but it's a lot for me!! I'm currently debating on getting rid of the "old" fleet, but I just can't seem to get myself to make that decision.

29 cars and trucks in 37 years (combined total counting cars bought for my wife to drive).

Most memorable: 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS (327/350 - L79) which I bought in 1972 and still own. With gobs of power and even more torque in a car as light as a Nova, this thing produces white-knuckle drives even when going for groceries. It's a 4-speed and it makes me feel 16 again every time I drive it. The 4 wheel drum brakes require lots of foresight when stopping and the lack of ANY power assist makes for lots of driver involvement! I'll NEVER sell it!!!

Favorite all-around: 1987 VW Jetta GLI that's been with me since 1994. Great gas mileage, excellent handling and the best seats (manual cloth Recaros) I've ever owned. You can pound out 700 mile days without being unduly tired and carry 4 bodies in the trunk . It broke 200k last year and got treated to new Bilstein shocks and Neuspeed SofSport springs.

No wonder you guys like the Subes,a LOT of you have owned some real dogs! I've owned some myself, but had a lot of expensive fun w/over 30 new & 9 used GM vehicles. Coolest-68 Camaro SS 350,68 & 70 GTO's(all used).Worth mention-73 Blue Grand Am 455 coupe,75 & 77 Grand Prix SJ's,81 Black Citation(!)X-11.Worst-85 Celebrity Eurosport wagon(never 'right').Our current '05 Malibu Maxx is a good all around vehicle, but no AWD. I think they are 8, and i am 53 yrs old.

1)- '74 Datsun B210, bought it new. Sold with +100k on it.
2)- '79 Datsun B210 Station Wagon, bought it new. Sold with +90k miles on it
3)- '81 Nissan 210, also bought it new. Also sold with a lot of miles
4)- '87 Isuzu Trooper, bought it new. Can't remember how many miles on it
5)- '92 Isuzu Rodeo LS, bought it new and still own with +137k miles on it.
6)- '95 Toyota Tercel, bought it used for my daugther and bought it back
from her when she left home for post graduate studies in England.
Still own with +86k miles
7)- '00 Impreza RS, bought it used from a relative with 16k miles on
the clock. Still own with +56K miles on it. This is my hobby car.
8)- '07 Forester X, bought it used, with 3,500 miles on it,from a Subaru
dealer to replace the Rodeo.

As you may see, I buy cars to keep. Only the Isuzus have taken me back to the dealer for some service issues, all others had given excellent service.

Well, I'm only 18, but I've already had 5 vehicles. And no, I didn't wreck any of them! Lol. In order, they were:

1995 Ford F-150 X-cab 4x4, dark blue/purple - had only 45k one owner miles on it when we bought it in June of 2005 from a dealership in Rapid City, South Dakota for $10,000. It was dark blue/purple with white pinstripes, an absolutely beautiful truck, but it had the dreadfully thirsty/underpowered Ford 302 V8 and an automatic - got a pitiful 13 mpg. Was supposed to share use of it with my dad, but we couldn't afford to drive it after Katrina sent gas prices through the roof, so we sadly consigned it to a local dealership and got rid of it in 2006.

1990 Mercedes 300TE 4MATIC AWD wagon, brown - fantastic car, a true all weather beast, it's metallic light brown with tobacco brown leather, loaded to the gills, it even has heated seats! Purchased a week after my 16th birthday and intended on driving it forever, except for the minor detail that the odometer was rolled back and we payed $3,000 more than we should have with the miles it actually had... My poor parents are STILL fighting the dealership to get their money back over two and a half years later. It's parked in the barn back on the farm until we get the lawsuit settled,at which point we plan on shoving the car back down their throats.

1959 Studebaker Silver Hawk coupe, red - my project car. Fell in love with the Studebaker Hawk series of coupes at the age of 7, and ten years later finally had the opportunity to buy one and I seized it. Purchased it for a measly $1750 from the son of the original owner. It's red with a red vinyl interior and has a 259 Oldsmobile sourced V8 with a 3 on the tree manual. It needs a frame up restoration, but it's one of less than 500 left in existence, so once it's restored it will be worth significantly more than what I will invest to restore it It's up on block's in the barn back on the farm - once I get my own place a few years down the road, I'll trailer it from the farm and start working on the restoration.

1982 Mercedes 300SD Turbodiesel, black/silver - bought this stunning beauty with the intention of making it my daily driver. Have invested over $2000 into fixing it up, and at 222,000 miles the 5 cylinder turbodiesel is just now broken in and will probably do another 300-500k miles easily. Oh, and it gets over 30 mpg on the highway, despite being a full size 4000 pound RWD luxury sedan. Would love to keep it, but sadly am being forced to sell it due to needing the money more than the car and the fact that I bought the Forester and don't need two cars.

1998 Subaru Forester S, black/silver - my current daily driver/storm chasing rig. Picked it up back in February with a ridiculously low 40k one owner miles on the clock for a paltry $8500. It now has 57k (yes, I've put 17k miles on it in 6 months - about 7k was storm chasing miles and the rest was commuting with a few longer road trips here and there) and it isn't even broken in yet - I plan on driving it until it dies, which if I take care of it and don't wreck it or somehow manage to get it sucked into a tornado, shouldn't be for another 150k+ miles

So I've had two Americans, two Europeans and a Japanese to this point. When I graduate from college in 2010 and get a job, I plan on relegating my Foz to second car status and picking up a lightly used 05-09 Outback XT or Forester XT.

My parents had a mix of vehicles while I was growing up, mostly American, with a couple of Japanese and one European. They were, in chronological order:

1985 Ford E-150 XL Conversion Van, white - my parents bought this van from my mom's parents back in 1987. I grew up in the dark blue velour backseat of that van, which my parents affectionately termed 'Moby Dick'. It was pretty much the ultimate road trip vehicle. It was notoriously unreliable, and they finally dumped it in 1998.

1987 Ford LTD Sedan, dark blue - parents also bought this in 1987. Sold in 1991, so I have very little memory of that car.

1988 Ford F-150 XL X-Cab 4x4 pickup, brown/white - Dad bought with 11k miles in 1991 for his farm truck, now has 138k miles, currently gathering dust in one of our outbuildings waiting to be driven off to the auction and sold. Typical unreliable Fix Or Repair Daily of the late '80's.

1991 Subaru Justy AWD, red - the 'rents inherited this car from my mom's mother when she passed away in 1997. It got over 35 mpg on the highway and was basically an enclosed, oversized washing machine on wheels with snowmobile capabilities. Being as such and also having no A/C and a black interior (which was miserable in hot Colorado summers) my parents traded it in when me and my younger sister outgrew it in 2000.

1994 Ford F-150 XLT X-Cab 4x4, copper/cream - parents bought in 1998 with 44k miles to replace the dreadful conversion van. it was loaded with options and was a great road trip as well as all around vehicle. Dad sold it with 78k in 2001 to a guy from a nearby town. Have no idea what's happened to it since.

1997 Nissan Sentra GXE, black - bought with 24k miles in 2000, was the car that we traded the Justy on. It was a spunky little sedan, and served us well until once more I outgrew the backseat. Never gave my parents a single bit of trouble and ran like a sewing machine. We sold it to a local woman at 77k miles in 2003 and last I knew she's still driving it at the presen time and it has well over 150k on it. Nissan's reliability is in the same ballpark as Subaru's, as I understand it...

1997 Ford F-150 XLT X-cab 4x4, blue/silver - Dad bought this truck to replace the 1994 F-150 in January of 2000 with 56k miles. We kept it for 8 years and put almost 80k on it, finally selling it last July with 136k miles to a local firefighter, who uses it as his daily driver. A truly great vehicle - never gave us any problems until the last 10k we owned it. If gas wasn't so obscene and I could have afforded to put gas in it, my parents would have given it to me and I would have happily driven it. It had a lot of sentimental value to me and I still miss it.

2000 Chevy Malibu LS, bronze - the car my parents replaced the Sentra with. Had 35k miles when we bought it. Was a lemon, turned out to have been flooded, but my parents didn't discover the evidence of the flood damage until after they bought the car. We had no legal recourse, so we kept it until 2006, when we sold it to the son of a guy my dad went to high school with at 78k miles. Didn't give us any problems while we owned it, but the build quality was subpar and it was starting to act quirky right before we sold it. Typical GM POS of that era

2001.5 Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8T station wagon, dark blue - bought with 61k miles in 2006 to replace the Malibu. Was a great car, hella fun to drive with the 1.8 turbo four and Tiptronic manumatic, until the engine blew up at 83k miles in mid-2007. VW of America replaced it with a brand new engine under warranty, but the rest of the car, particularly the electrical system, was starting to give us fits, so we hastily traded it in earlier this year. Total POS - no more Volkswagen's, ever!

2002 GMC Sierra SLE X-cab 4x4, red/silver - truck my dad bought to replace the 1997 Ford F-150. Had 48k miles when Dad bought it in early 2006. First non-Ford truck my dad's ever owned, but he loves it. Has 67k last time I checked. Typically ghastly GM interior, but a reliable and amazingly versatile workhorse.

2005 Saab 9-2x 2.5i, red - had 13k miles when we bought it in January of this year to replace the Passat. Now it has 26k miles - my mom has a 50+ mile commute every day to work, plus going to church on Sundays. Gets 27-30 mpg in a mix of 75% highway-25% city driving and is a hoot to drive, even though it's an automatic. Quite roomy for being a small hatchback, too. If I could afford one and didn't need the extra cargo space and ground clearance, I'd betray my loyalty to my Foz and trade it on one of them in a hearbeat

All of these cars were purchased used - my parents have never had a new car in their lives, and they never will. Unless I get ridiculously wealthy, I never plan on buying a new car either - I'll put the thousands of extra dollars I would lose to licensing/titling, insurance and deprecation buying a new car towards restoring my Studebaker instead
