Right on! I think Subaru should feature a commercial with a couple pre- heated seats and post - heated seats. It really does make a difference and solves all sorts of spousal discord.

Cheers

I have them on my '04 XS and I am pretty disappointed. My seats have premium upholstery with vinyl side bulges. With the seat heater on, the upholstery gets warm, but the vinyl stays fairly cold. If I shift to either side of the seat, my butt touches the cold vinyl. It can be a shock, even with pants on. I wish the heating element extended to the vinyl areas, or the seat was all upholstery.

Subaru skimped on the heated seats. It doesn't get warm near my knees (hamstrings) and there's barely any heat on the seat back itself. You want nice heated seats ? Try out an Audi/VW. Both my wife and I one and those heated seats are the cat's meow. Add to that the option to dial 1-5 for heat and you're in heaven. Still, I'll take Subie's version of heat vs nothing.

While heated seats are nice, I wish the back of the seat was heated. My back gets cold way before my big butt does. :)

My heated seats got disconneted when the dealership adjusted my e-brake lever. Those couple days without them working were tough, finally I got them reconnected.

I kind of wish the Forester had the 3-setting heaters like the Legacy... and I'd love it if they were air conditioned like in my dad's Infiniti. AC'd seats are friggin' awesome when you're tired, or when the car has sat in the sun all day.

The back of the seat IS heated... maybe your heater element isn't working right?

ilmannered - I believe Saab seats would be your ultimate mod.

"Two flat electric fans in each front seat - one in the seatback and one in the lower cushion-extract warm, humid air that is normally trapped between the person and the seat upholstery. The fans operate in three operator-set speed modes, drawing warm air through the perforated seat leather and venting underneath the seat."

Not quite Air Conditioned, but I have ridden in one and they do make a noticeable difference in the cooling department, without freezing your balls off. However, you should note that if you pass gas it will get blown out the bottom of the seat for all to enjoy. (That could be good or bad)

You can read more about them here

Butt fans are the bestest! It is a real treat to drive a vehicle equipped with butt fans. That is an extra I would be glad to pay for.

Questionable heated seats?

I just purchased a 2005 Forester with leather heated seats and wondering what part of the seat is supposed to heat as I am only feeling some slight warmth in my lower back region. No heat at all on the part of the seat I actually sit on. Does the car have to be actually in gear and moving for them to heat up adequately?

On a cold morning.. or my back in aching.. yes it's feels great

I do like Infinity's cooling seat though. Summer heat + leather seats = *** burning. Wish Subaru offered this as well.

After selling my first GT Luxury Pack,i bought a MY98 WRX.
It was fun for a while but i missed all the extras of the Forester.

Now i'm back to heated seats and i love it.
Australia might be hot in the summer but it get's damn cold in the winter especially if your living in regional areas.
For me heated seats are a winner.

Cheers
