Can you confirm if the Map lights are the same size of bulb as the Dome light(s) in the 2014 Forester? I had a Red LEDs in my old vehicle and love that for lighting the driver, however they were a little underwhelming, especially for what they cost.

I'd be looking to get the 2 "Cool White" and 1 Red SMF6, along with the FlexLight for the Cargo Area.

I purchased the XML2 Fogs a few months ago, they are amazing by the way. Super easy install, plug and play... I have 0 complaints about them. They work down at -35C too, its not surprising from you guys... but the cheap stuff just doesnt last, well worth the money. I wish I had used the black friday/previous customer coupon to get the interior lights done :P

Hello Colby,

Most Subarus use a 31mm Festoon style bulb for the majority of the interior lighting locations

It's worth noting that colors like Red, will produce less visible output than the equivalent white color. Therefore, we do suggest purchasing red models with the higher lumen numbers.

I just finished installing the Interior replacement kit Stage 2 LEDs in cool white. I'm very pleased. 8 watt dome and map lights are much brighter and use 1.25 watts each. The dim up and down still works perfectly well.
The other 5W bulbs are now brighter 1 watt bulbs, and these cover the door step, cargo area and license plate lights. The license plate lights were the trickiest. Youtube videos help a lot!

The cargo area only has 1 light, so this really helps. I'm trying to decide if I want to install the second cargo light in the lift gate. That involves removing panels and running a harness. I worry about damaging them.

I installed the interior kit, STAGE 2 in my 2017 2.5i Limited. How-to videos helped. Map & dome lights don't need to be any brighter than Stage 2. Stage 1 doesn't seem worth the trouble. I didn't see an option for the cargo light to be stage 3, but it is such a puny light, it needs all the help it can get. I had a little aluminized mylar I taped as a back reflector. The map lights have some directionality, so I pointed them away from each other for better isolation.

The most challenging were the license plate lights. Once you persuade them to slide to the middle and pivot out, slide it back to clear the assembly free.

I'm happy with the results, the brighter, full spectrum lights are really impressive. They draw 1/5th the amps of the incandescents.

What kind of LEDs do you offer for reverse lights for an sh Forester? Are they shielded against radio interference?

We have a variety of options available for the SH Foresters. We use shielded components.

Thank you,
Nick C.
