Thanks!
Our XP80's will provide 510 lumens of total output (measured). Here's an example of the color:

We will have a yellow XML2 option soon (1,420 lumens / measured)

Thanks Nick, I think I'd like to go that route. Now to just find the best housings to use with your bulbs.

DEPO makes nice OEM-quality replacements FWIW. We often recommend them for customers looking to add housings.

So the Luxeon housings are lower output than the XLM2s? 600 lm/each vs 1410 lm/each?

The Luxeon housings produce less lumen output, but the output pattern itself is more usable thanks to the design of the optics.

The wide output and sharp cutoff are what make the Luxeons ideal for the fog light location

For clarification, as asked by Canadian_XT, the XML2s are 1410 per bulb? What is their output pattern and cut off in the OEM housing? Do you have a diagram/graphic or angles/degrees? Anything to clarify how the light is projected out or the OEM fog housing?

The XML2s are indeed 1,410 lumens per bulb (measured)

They produce significantly more lumen output than the factory halogen bulbs, but utilize the factory reflector fog light housings quite well.

I don't have a graphic or diagram on file with the angle or degrees of the Subaru Forester's factory housing, but it's worth noting that fog lights are an auxiliary location, mounted low on the vehicle, and will not create significant glare for other drivers on the road. Especially not as much as an HID conversion kit.

If you are looking for a technical spec-sheet with our measurements of the H11 XML2, please send an email: contact@diodedynamics.com and we can provide you with more information from our engineering team.

We also offer a complete LED replacement housing, which replaces the entire factory fog light housing. (currently out of stock).

Feel free to give us a call for more information: (314) 205-3033

Thank you!
Nick C.

Thanks Nick for the information. I guess I'll wait for black Friday to load up on interior and exterior LEDs. Since I haven't found any before and after shots of the yellow (3000k) XML2 in XT OEM fogs, I guess I'll have to take some shots and post them in December.

We haven't had a chance to take comparisons in the XT yet, but here's a few recent comparisons in the XV and a 2014 WRX:

Please note: the WRX's housings were cracked, so it affected the output pattern a bit

The XP80s are out of stock at the moment. We are making some improvements to the design.

The XP80's produce 510 lumens vs. XML2 which produces 1,420 lumens (measured)

We also offer a Yellow halogen replacement from Putco
