Wow, you all just can't stop bantering about the CVT and Eyesight, can you?

Anyway: As part of my deal-seeking, I contacted the president of one of the largest Subaru dealerships on the (US) east coast and told them that I was interested in the 2014, but would probably be happier with a 2015.

This person said that they expect to get their deliveries in April or May, and that they will let me know as soon as they can order for me.

That's fine. I'll be busy as hell throughout March, and I'm not going anywhere my old car can't take me until June.

Same here talk to a dealer yesterday going up around April 18th to place a order on a 2015 XT will take around 4 weeks to get from the order date. Between now and then hopefully more information will be out on the 2015 hoping for a winter package will be available on the XT Premium.

2015 Forester Details released

Looks like I'm the first to post the details here -- I just got a press release from Subaru with the 2015 changes and pricing.

Looks like I was right with my prediction that the 2nd gen EyeSight is reserved for higher-end Legacy/Outback, while the Forester's 1st gen EyeSight is lowered by $500 for 2015.

At first glance, all changes are just shuffling of options packages and standard equipment except for new wheels for Touring models.

SUBARU ANNOUNCES 2015 FORESTER PRICING
- XT Premium features standard All Weather Package
- Rear vision camera and color multi-function display standard on base model
- 2.5i Premium manual transmission gets standard moonroof
- EyeSight® driver assist option packages lowered by $500

Cherry Hill, N.J., Feb. 27, 2014-- Subaru of America, Inc. has announced pricing on the carmaker’s award winning crossover the 2015 Subaru Forester. The Forester is a two-time winner of the coveted Motor Trend Sport/Utility Vehicle of the Year award.

The Forester 2.5i model will be available in base, Premium, Limited and top-line Touring versions. Pricing begins at $22,195 for the base model 2.5i with six-speed manual transmission. The turbocharged 2.0XT will be offered in the Premium and Touring versions, with the Premium starting at $28,495. The 2.0XT Premium now features a standard All Weather Package. All prices are MSRP and do not include $850 destination charge.

For 2015, the base model 2.5i gets rear vision camera and color multi-function display as standard equipment. Previously unavailable, the 2.5i Premium manual transmission model is now equipped with a moonroof standard. New for 2015, the 2.5i Touring models will receive standard high luster 18” alloy wheels. All Touring models feature Keyless Access & Start, HID lights and chrome rocker trim. Navigation is now optional on Touring models.

Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist system earned the highest rating given by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a Superior rating, when IIHS conducted its first test of accidence avoidance technologies. The EyeSight system integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning.

One of the most affordable such technologies available in the U.S. market, EyeSight uses a stereo camera design developed by Subaru to provide a detection angle wider than that of radar-based systems. EyeSight option packages are lowered $500 from the previous model year.

As with all previous Forester models, the 2015 comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a distinction from the competitive models that come with front-wheel drive as standard and offer all-wheel drive as an extra-cost option.

The Subaru Forester’s continued sales success has helped Subaru achieve five consecutive annual sales records.

SUBARU ANNOUNCES 2015 FORESTER PRICING
A cursory look at the pricing differences indicates that apples-to-apples pricing from 2014's show a modest price increase of roughly $125 - $250 depending on trim, but it is complicated by the fact that there are many changes to what is standard and what is an option in many packages.

For example, the Touring trims now include HID and keyless access as STANDARD but the navigation is now an OPTION. So what looks like a price $125 increase is actually apples-to-oranges. Looking at the Touring apples-to-apples loaded with nav and EyeSight, it appears that there is a $390 price DECREASE due to the $500 price reduction of the 1st gen EyeSight.

It seems more obvious now that Subaru is pricing the Forester with the EyeSight such that the new Outback with the 2nd gen EyeSight and rear cross-traffic assist will be differentiated as a high-value step-up. For those that actually thought that Subaru would re-tool and re-qualify the Forester with 2nd gen EyeSight in only the 2nd model year -- I hate to say it, but I told you it would never happen.

After a closer look, from what I can see, the only "all-new" material differences from 2014 are the high luster 18" wheels and the chrome rocker trim, both for the 2.5i Touring. By "all-new", I am not counting the changes involving features and options that were previously not available in certain trims - like the color screen and rear camera in the base model, and the moonroof now standard on the 2.5i Premium manual tranny.

That's great the all weather package on the XT Premium that was the one option I wanted and you could not get on the 2014MY. Was wondering why the increase in the base price but worth it.

I'm not seeing where it says that the 2015 eyesight is the same as last years. Where are you getting that from? All I see is the mention of eyesight and different pricing/bundling.

You can tell by their statement of what Eyesight includes. Also, the price is lower which is a good hint.

No mention of the new features in this statement: The EyeSight system integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning.

Kind of funny yesterday was researching on the XT Premium and came across this review of a 2014 XT Premium with photos seems their vehicle came with heated seats.

They used stock photos for the interior... note the all white view out the windows. They apparently grabbed the photos for the XT Touring. Also note that article was from April 2013.
