As I recall the 2014 Forester was announced in November 2012, and became available for purchase in February 2013. It has been almost a year since the last announcement.
I have searched but I can find nothing about when to expect some information on the 2015 model. Any changes would probably be minor, maybe even non-existent, but I'd like to know before taking the plunge on buying the current 2014 model.
I'm not seeing where it says that the 2015 eyesight is the same as last years. Where are you getting that from? All I see is the mention of eyesight and different pricing/bundling.
You can tell by their statement of what Eyesight includes. Also, the price is lower which is a good hint.
No mention of the new features in this statement: The EyeSight system integrates Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning.
Kind of funny yesterday was researching on the XT Premium and came across this review of a 2014 XT Premium with photos seems their vehicle came with heated seats.

They used stock photos for the interior... note the all white view out the windows. They apparently grabbed the photos for the XT Touring. Also note that article was from April 2013.
I'm definitely hoping for the new version, as if my optimism will make it happen! Your marketing points are well taken. But Jennifer is such a great name.
Here's another bout of that optimism: they announce the new version of eyesight with the legacy, and, as far as I can tell, it has the same trademarked name as the old version. similar to apple when they started calling the iPad just the new iPad (with no numerics attached) all eyesight systems post- legacy announcement are the updated version, unless otherwise specified. Otherwise they get caught up in a 19 mph vs 30 mph lawsuit soup. This above is all just my thoughts of course, not gospel.
"For the 2015 model year, Subaru is also offering its EyeSight safety system for $1,895 or $500 less than last year. It integrates adaptive cruise control , pre-collision braking and a lane departure warning system and can bring the car to a complete stop if necessary when driving under 30 mph.
Subaru enhanced the system for 2015 with a detection range 40 percent longer and wider than before. Previously, EyeSight was limited to functioning with cars traveling at speeds 19 mph above or below how quickly it was traveling, but the new system offers a 30 mph margin."
My dealer contacted me today about the 2015 models, and he said every indicator they have been given points towards the Gen II Eyesight, but he said Subaru hasn't said it specifically. So not a for sure yes, but not a no either, guess we'll see...
He also mentioned the Marine Blue Pearl will be replaced with Quartz Blue Pearl, I imagine the same blue found on the Crosstrek.
He's not sure about when orders will start being taken, but said it usually takes 12-14 weeks for ordered vehicles to arrive...I was hoping for sooner than that. This will be my first Subaru so I don't know if that is the case, maybe others can chime in on how long new orders have taken for new model years on previous Foresters?
Touring models got the equipment changes I was hoping for exactly! :bananapowerslide:
Now the plot thickens and I'm hoping to find info on color combinations... Do the XT models get anything besides black interior?
And that 6MT Premium with sunroof makes me think about that combination as well (with aftermarket, heated leather seats, that'd still be a heck of a deal and fun to drive with much simpler maintenance needs). Hmmm...
