XT appears to have gained 38 lbs.

Edit: yeah I'm comparing 2.0i to 2.5i so that's not going to be meaningful, at least on the non-turbo. More confusion added.

Google Translate

The fuel tank also got smaller (15.8 gal vs 16.9).
In relation to the link you provided.

The XT now gets bigger front brakes (17 v 15 front, and 16 VENTILATED v 15 rear). That is way bigger than LGT size, right?

X-mode appears to be the off road version with hill descent control. Wonder how all of it ties into VDC.

SI drive is cool!

Doing a few quick google translates of Subaru's marketing/release materials, the theme of fun to drive comes up frequently. So, a better handling forester? I'm in for it!

Yes that is correct (though that's fuel-pump high-and-dry range numbers), just pointing out for those hoping for really big range gains it's only going to be a slight bump.

The translation is wrong. The brakes are not that big.

Wheel size minus 4" = max brake size wheel can clear.

The brakes are probably 11.7"

The more I see them, the more I like them. They're like the XV's older sibling. lol.

Ok makes sense! I was starting to run numbers on the size of the brakes, and realized that was way above Brembo's too.

At least the XT's get ventilated rear brakes though!

I would totally rock this. Love the color, the sport grille, and the lighting accents.

Actually, it looks like it will have styled steel wheels (without hub caps) again. The SG base model had them but the SH had plain black steelies with plastic hub caps.

Still not liking it... but it does seem to look a little better when wearing the darker colors. Definitely a no-go in white or silver though.

OMG, Silke is seriously liking an evolution of the SH! This has to be a sign of some fundamental shift in the fabric of the universe :~)

I could do this. I might wait till the 2015 comes out. I want to see how the CVT works on the XT model.

I think a lot of people (*cough*enthusiasts) are starting to like what the SJ is becoming. It signals a back to roots (fun to drive, turbo vehicle), while improving upon several of its previous flaws.

The 8-speed fake geared CVT sounds pretty cool too, along with excellent fuel economy.

Let's face it, the SH never got much love from the majority of the enthusiasts, despite being a better over all vehicle (yes, even in the handling department, the chassis in the SH is way better... suspension, not so much).

I would seriously love to upgrade to a SJ Forester 2.0 XT, and have the financial capability to do so (despite being 18 ), but it would be a stupid move right before college, and seeing as how I already have a vehicle in great condition, and it is entertaining and powerful enough for me for now....

Count one more SG owner in the "love" column with regard to the new design. So much more stylish than the SH and finally dumped the 4EAT, which for all its reliability was still extremely dated. Not to mention all the other new goodies. I'm taking a moment to appreciate every drive in my '06 now, knowing our days together are likely numbered. The '14 will hit the dealership right before mine crosses the 100k threshold, and I already know the temptation is going to be too great. . .

I think the new direction Subaru is going, is working. I, too, like the new Forester, though I'm not so sure about those fake bumper vents. Might opt for the XS

Looks like power passenger seat. That's good. So hard to know what from JDM is going to come to NADM
