Default Basic the quickest of the 2.5 bunch?

I took Premium and Basic for a drive off a dealer lot, both manual trannies, and noticed that Basic seemed quicker. A glance at the stats seems to corroborate - Basic is 150 lbs lighter and with smaller wheels. I wonder if anyone has done a more systematic testing of the different 2.5 models. I can't seem to even find consistent 0-60 times online - various sources give 8.2 to 8.6 secs.
Not that it's relevant, but I ended up buying Basic.

Nothing wrong with the basic. The motor and drivetrain are the same for the most part (until you get the XT) . That money is just paying for the bells and whistles.

150lbs certainly could make the difference, that is the weight of an extra person!

So I dug up some more stats and I must have gotten my numbers from a wrong source. Subaru site states the weight difference between 2.5X Base and Premium is only 50 lbs. Also, after one factors the tire size, the tire diameter on Premium is almost the same as on Base (~27"). So it was probably confirmation bias, and both should drive the same. What accounts for the 50 pound weight difference?

Leather seats? Upgraded sound system? I'm not sure what the exact differences are, but a few of the extra features are what add the weight. It's almost too easy to add weight to a car, and manufacturers have to be careful!
