Default Active Military Discount

I was out and about, stopped by a few places in my quest for a forester.

The Dealership I went to said there is an Active Duty Deal where Active Duty Military members get new Subarus at Invoice, The deal also includes a warranty deal/ maintenance deal.

Checked the forums, and there is nothing about this here. I also googled it and notta! Just stuff from GM and stuff, no details on the Subaru Military Discount could be found! I am just wondering if someone has the full details or at least a link to where i might be able to find this. Seems odd that i couldn't find anything on the Subaru Website.

If all else fails, i will try to get some documentation from a dealer about this and post it here. Seems like it would be something that should be advertised!

Also, is invoice the lowest possible price i can get from a dealer on a new Subaru?

Very interesting, and good to hear this. If it's not a corporate-wide policy, it could be a local sort of thing. You didn't say where you are in North Carolina, but there is indeed a bit of a military presence there!

The best I can offer is news of a 10% discount at both Lowes and Home Depot for all vets.

And thanks for your service to the country!

The Under Armor and Nike Outlets give a 10% military discount here.

It would be nice for another dealership to confirm/deny this. I was under the impression that it was a USA wide sort of thing as in "Subaru offers Active Duty this deal..." sort of thing and not so much "This Dealership offers.." Of course I may have misunderstood.

If you use USAA to find the car, its at invoice at participating dealers. That's what I did. No going back and forth on pricing. You may however get a better than invoice price if you can talk well and the dealers are looking to sell.
That specific dealer might have a special for military that includes maintenance, etc.
Mine does every other oil change free and free state inspections but that's for anyone who buys a car there.
Hope this helps...

Military.com just announced a Military Appreciation version of Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for $79.95. Terms of the offer appear to restrict it to Active Duty, Reserve, and civilians overseas, but it's also available through AAFES and hence to retirees.

I don't quite understand. Would you prefer that we start a separate thread for military discounts in general?

Eh... probably my bad... should've named it "Subaru active duty military discount"

Either way, when i get the full details from the dealership (should the dealership closer to me not honor the same thing) i will post them.

Thnks for the heads up on the other non subaru deals, but i was really looking more for the subaru deal (if it was an official subaru deal). Maybe if i get some time i will call subaru and post some details if it is, in fact, a subaru USA wide deal.

Side note... Dont salute me... i work for my pay (enlisted =P) also, im Air Force... i do paperwork et al. Been deployed and all, but the "props" (if you will) go out to the boys on the ground. Air force Jtacs, Army grunts, Marines, and the rest of the ground pounders...
