Stoners is the best stuff I've found. Using newspaper works well as the paper because it's less dusty. I also like to follow up with a clean dry microfiber cloth. That works well on the inside to get that film off left behind by the plastics in the dash gassing out.. I keep a microfiber in the glove box. For some reason my passengers like to touch the glass and leave fingerprints. The microfiber cloth wipes them off nicely.

I have used Rain-X now for years and years. I get the Gallon size and in addition to using it in my wiper tank I always have a couple spray bottles of it around. I clean all my house windows and car windows with it. The more you use it the cleaner your windows stay and the better it works. Regular paper towels are fine.
The thing with Rain-X is that it beads water and repels dirt.

I've used rain-x for years. A friend gave me one of the AquaPel pads. It's very similar to rain-x but it lasts longer than 6 months. I found it to be much much better. I was very skeptical when he told me how much better it is. It really is though:

I think we are talking apples and oranges here. My take is that Stoners has been voted by a large majority as being by far superior to anything else at the task of "cleaning" the windows. Also being discussed are the solutions like RainX that put an invisible polymer layer on your windshield and cause rain to bead off with the force of the air hitting the car. Most people use the cleaner first, then apply the water-shedding product after.

Do you guys have any problems with water spots, especially on the side windows? I heard you can us a claybar to get them off. I was thinking about using this Glass Polish, 8 Ounces - Polishes - Polishing - Car Care - Griot's Garage with this Professional 3" Random Orbital - Orbitals & Polishing Tools - Polishing - Car Care - Griot's Garage

Are you talking about ZEP 40 foaming glass cleaner? I love this stuff, but as you said, it will take off anything it touches (not water spots)! Used carefully, it's great for exterior glass. I wouldn't use this inside, since any drips or oversprays would discolor the plastic. Bobby...
