Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how to remove driveway sealant (the blacktop stuff) from along the side plastic moulding on the bottom of my 08? Apparently, some knucklehead lost a big barrel of the stuff out of the back of a trailer or truck. It spilled all over the road and I had no choice but to drive through it. ![]() I was able to swerve a little to limit the splatter to one side of the car. It's black and sicky. It's on the plastic and the wheels. Will the usual Bug and Tar removal products work on plastic without discolouration? I'm going to attempt to use my powerwasher very carefully too. Any other creative solutions before I start? Thanks. |

Since driveway sealer is an oil based product, you can use kerosene, mineral spirits, gasoline or even vegetable oil. Think along the same way as removing oil based paint.
The veggie oil does work, it just taked a little more elbow grease and is better for the paint.
