Question Best way to wash the top?

I am 5'7" and it's not that easy to wash/wax top of my Fosty... So any suggestion? A step ladder? A long reach brush? Or tie my kid to the bloom? How will you do it?

I say put some coil overs on and you should be good to go.. I've seen those telescopic wash poles, those should work for you.

At 5' 7" you can't see the top. Why worry.

Just kidding. I got nothin'

PS: never tie your kid to a bloom. You might bleak it.

A telescopic brush, like Pleaids said. I bought my wife one you hook to the hose. She is 5'4" and can now wash the top too!

First I step up on the rear bumper and wash up to the rear crossbar and then open up the doors and stand on the door sills to wash front and middle areas. The rails keep water from running inside the doors! I start at drivers door first then go counter clockise. Get your sponge up there first before you open the doors and you are good to go.

Dwarf tossing usually works for me. I tell 'em, "you ain't coming back down until I say it's clean!"

Or use a step ladder.

Or visit the bikini car wash.

If you're going to stand on something, either make sure your shoes are grippy or that the stoop has a non-slip surface. We'd hate to read the "How do I shift with a broken arm?" thread. Soapy water, plastic, and reaching over can be a bad combination.

I am 5' 9", and was able to do the roof on my 2000 Forester without using anything. Now with a 2009, I have to use a foldable kitchen step stool. I got one cheap at Canadian Tire ($9.95) and it works just fine. It is plastic, so if I accidentally nudge it against the car, it won't scratch the paint.

But you guys take care! I have seen some pretty nasty accidents (including a broken neck) that were caused by falls from impromptu step stools. Remember 75% of all serious accidents are caused at home.

Geezer
Sounds like a good reason to use Dan's method above with the bikini car wash.

WHAT!? You got your wife to wash the car?? How did you do that?

I use a step ladder. Never had to do that with our old cars and my current car. This is new territory for me as well. I can't imagine how people wash their raised Tahoes and Expeditions.

She washed her car once when I bought the brush. I think that was the only time too! I tend to care about the cars and treat them like family. She treats it like a vehicle. All she wants to do is put gas in and drive.
