Here is my journal, it will be slow going for a bit none of the juicy stuff until i hit 100K, but I will show what I'm doing until then.

I bought the Forester Sports from Goldstien Subaru in Colony NY at about KBB value. I traded in a Mini Cooper S that was starting to worry me due to some service issues and I wanted to get rid of it before it became a money pit. I had purchased a 08' Impreza for my wife Sheri and I loved it, but while i was getting that car i saw a Forester Sports on the lot for the first time in my life. I though WOW I didnt know a Forester could look so cool. Then the cooper started to give me trouble and it was a no brainer, especially living in NY!!

so as of today im up to 55K miles.

the first thing that happend is i busted my head light and replaced it my self (not a good start)

3 of the 4 doors done (roadblocked) and half the material used SeaScooby spacers in the front hopefully will be done tomorrow

oh my its like night and day
there is a long stretch of highway that is paved in concrete
there are some large seams on this road that make loud "clunk clunk" noises as you drive over it
even with only 3 doors the sound was dramatically reduced
and the doors when they shut are much quieter!
i was a bit skeptical but sound deadening is awesome !!

i know they are most likey cheep so i cannot pound on them but until i can get some craftsman's these will do !!

I installed the OEM tweeter kit today :woohoo:

it took about 40 seconds per door including the time it took unbox them
the instructions say you need a screwdriver but i think you would only need that if you had all your fingers burned smooth by something LOL

oh and while it was apart i noticed that at least in the 07' sports model
had a little baffle (plug) installed into where some of the wind noise can come from behind the tweeter kit (you would know what im talking about if you have had to deal with this) if anyone ants a pic of this i can submit!

im going to detail the car this week and take some decent pics of it [got a claybar kit by meguiars] (finally)

Your Member Journal is looking good!

You might consider a Table of Contents before you get too many entries. One other thing to keep in mind is that the forum limits you to 20 images per post.

^^ no guesses

oh i just did a spark and wire change ill post some details later

I looked at various write-ups and they were very helpful

tools used
ratchet
12mm socket
10mm socket
spark plug socket
3" extension
10" extension
ratchet swivel
flat head screw driver
dielectric grease
extendo magnet

I started by removing the air filter from the clamp near the torque box
then I unscrewed the 2 12mm bolts holding the air filter to the car
I took the whole assembly and placed it on the strut bar so it was out of the way
then I had ample room to work on the wires
to remove the wire boots I found placing my fingers under the round boot section that is in contact with the head gave me the best grip and with a little pressure POP it came off
the 10" ext and the socket were all that were needed for this side so I removed the sparks which looked 60K miles old but not oily
I put some dielectric grease on the contact that links with the wire and then hand tightened the spark in with the 10" ext then I seated it with the wrench
I then put the new wire in and pushed firmly until I felt it connect ... then I pushed a little more
I fed the wires back to the ignition coil (I think that's what its called)
and then I worked on the other side
I just removed the Battery with the 10mm socket and this gave me the room I needed
I removed the wired in the same manner as the passenger side
I used the 3" ext and then the swivel and then the 10" ext and then the wrench
it looks a little silly but it is effective
for this side I needed the extendo magnet tool to remove the old sparks
then I inserted the new sparks and hand tightened and then seated them
put on the new wires, reinstalled the batt and the air filter and she started right up!!!
running all smooth and nice

total time including oil change 45 mins to an hour!!
