Forgot to mention that I've been getting the urge to rumble lately as well
. I am currently second in line for these custom axlebacks and I want them BADLY! They are Magnaflow mufflers with S2000 tips on them:FS: Custom Mufflers Axleback Magaflow + AP2 s2000 Tips - Subaru Legacy Forums ![]() They meet all the criteria I'm looking for in a set of axlebacks: bolt-on, not too loud, stock looking tips, tuck into bumper cutouts nicely, and most importantly, CHEAP! ($) Now that he posted more pics, the welds do look pretty crappy. I could get that fixed easily enough though. I gotta admit, I thought about doing a hogzaust for a few days there, but as anti-rice as I am, I thought better of it. Creating an exhaust leak on purpose to let out more sound ranks up there pretty on the rice scale IMO. |

I noticed that set on .com - they do look very nice.
I think that you'd have been very happy with Lachute's LGT offering, as well as the Prodrives, back in the day...it's too bad they discontinued those products. I'm gonna Hawgzaust the wifey's FXT, when I drive it. ![]()

Well I know your a ricer. I've seen the huge cans sticking out the back and carbon fiber all over the front of your LGT! ![]() Seriously though, I won't knock anyone for hawgzausting a force fed subie. I just probably wouldn't do it to my own car. Only thing I don't like about the prodrives is how far they stick out past the sedan bumpers. |

But for when I get into the the wifey's daily driver, I figure that Hawg'ing would be quick and easy, particularly with the FXT's tail already being up-high. Quote:

MUAHAHAHA, I have something up my sleeve. I won't tell you what it is quite yet, but if someone guesses, I'll spill the beans. Here is a big hint:
![]() Also, since I have the day off, I think I might throw on the AEM CAI and updated map from TA just for the heck of it. Stay tuned... |

Installed the AEM CAI tonight. The install was pretty straight forward, other than the heat shield it comes with fitting like crap. I put some high temp foam (thanks again to GarageXTi for the hook up on that!!) around the CAI where it goes into the fender near the heat shield. This should prevent it from rubbing/rattling and keep it in place better. I did not install the rubber grommet that mounts to the CAI as there was no hole for it with the heatshield lined up. I may drill one in at some point.
It sounds great! Turbo spool and the stock BPV are much more apparent. Not too loud either which is a good thing IMO. Sounds way better than the stock box minus resonator w/AVO panel filter I was running before. Note I did not install this expecting power gains, more for aural pleasure than anything else. Its the last power mod I plan on putting on before a protune on a dyno sometime soon (hopefully). In the mean time I loaded up my map update from TA. Need to take some logs ASAP. Saw max boost of 18.6 PSI. If you haven't been keeping up with this thread, these are all the powertrain mods on the car: AEM CAI AVO TMIC Grimmspeed PnP exhaust manifold (coated) Grimmspeed Highflow crossover pipe (coated and wrapped) Grimmspeed UP (coated and wrapped) Cobb catted DP Stock CBE AP v.2 running TA map Onto the pics. ![]() stock intake removed ![]() peering into the fender, I noticed this wire hanging. Anyone know what it is and where it needs to be hooked up to? ![]() a closer look at it. what is it? where does it go? ![]() AEM CAI installed w/crappy fitting heatshield and high temp foam ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() flashing updated TA map ![]() |

The wire looks like a chassis ground. I don't know if I can see mine easily, but I'll try to do so tonight and take a pic if I can. Look on the chassis member in that area, and you should see either a hole there or a bolt. I'm really not sure how yours came loose? Perhaps you un-did it for the UP or manifold work?
Dude, that interior is gonna rock!!!!!

About the interior, I was just going to buy the rears so I could get fold down seats. At this point though, the seller is undecided and may want to just keep them. |

Hey TSi, never mind, don't worry about that pic. I just put it on ramps and had a look underneath. Its a grounding wire from the motor to the chasis. Luckily I had a small enough bolt laying around so I re-attached it. I'll upload some pictures after work to show you what I'm talking about.

Here's where the other end was connected to the chasis:
![]() and what it looked like on the other side: ![]() No point in trying to take a pic of it fixed on the passenger side as the oil filter and header made that near impossible. But yea you were right, a grounding wire, and I could see how it could have been taken/knocked off during that big install day. |

You do that yourself, use a katzkin kit, or have a local shop do it?

At this point, I only want/can only afford to upgrade the rear seats. Why? Because for whatever reason 05-06 Legacy sedans don't have folding rear seats. Theres a ski pass through, thats it. This is weird/inconvenient to me, as my old 95' Legacy L had folding rear seats, and well we all know how much useable space foresters have. My thread on it here: Folding rear seats on 05'-06' sedans? - Subaru Legacy Forums |

Ah, well that should be nice when it's done though... and I didn't realise the Spec.B came with the alcantara, mind you I've never really had the opportunity to look at one that closely despite wanting one.
