Bought a set of id1000cc injectors going to be going e85 next weekend. Plan on having 2 maps one aggresive e85 for summer and one 93oct for winter and vacation/roadtrips when e85 is not available. Im pretty excited and as far as i know i will be the first SH forester on corn lol.
Purchased a new green gmc flex fuel badge for the back of the xt. Also thinking of swapping gas caps from my chevy work van that is a flex fuel vehicle but not sure if they are interchangable. It fits but i dont want any evap codes so i will think about it.
Pretty excited finally got my id1000cc in and tuned. First tune was for 93oct which is pretty tame for long trips and the winter 19psi tapering to who cares lol. Second tune is e85 and wholy crap 24psi tapering to 19psi people say the vf52 turns into a hair dryer after 23psi but my power curve says other wise. I will post up quarter mile results next weekend. My tuners butt dyno says we picked up 50whp and 70wtq but i dont really trust it for accuracy. I will be going for a dyno pull in the next couple weeks to see the real results.
yes i do my avitar and thumbnails are with the swift springs. I actually like them for everyday driving in upstate ny. I have been running them for about a year on stock shocks with no issues.
Have you upgraded the brakes yet? I'm looking for pads and ss lines but it seems they changed them from 2010 to 2011. Didn't know if you tried anything? Also, you get it on a dyne yet? Numbers?
No i havnt done the brakes but will probably go stoptech pads and goodyear ss lines as well the stockers are pretty crappy. I will be going for a couple dyno pulls next month but no my tunes have been road tunes.
I want to thank corn for making 30mph rolling awd burnouts possible. Will be hitting the 1/4 mile wed nite hoping for mid to high 12's will post the results.
sweeeet! gotta love the 4eat being able to take some abuse. try to get some videos!
Also - what kind of power are you seeing with the vf52? i know it's a legacy gt style fitment compressor housing which sucks for me. my friend with a 11 wrx with intake, turboback, uppipe w/ ewg, and a boost controller made like 370 on it at 19psi. with stock fuel.
so i'm really curious to see what you're making at 24psi with fuel done + e85
im going to take a trip to nj with my tuner for a dyno tuning session next month hes going to get me on the dyno for a couple pulls for free. I dont tune on them my tuner says he gets better reliability road tuning because you can never simulate the road 100% but i am going to do some pulls just to see.
Anxious to see the possibilities that lay ahead....I'll be tuned in as always nate. Thanks for the tuner reccommendation as well. Ray did an awesome job on my FOZ. Never expected to get such a drastic difference between the Stg II Cobb and a Pro Tune. It's honestly nothing short of amazing. I'm going to be holding off on power mods for a bit and change my brakes out. After feeling how mushy they got and feeling them fade while doing those runs in 3rd gear for Ray even after just 1 run it was a bit freightening.
Ok so everything i said about the stock bcs was wrong it took a big dump on me today and im barely hitting 21psi grimmspeed 3 port here i come lol. To make it worse i thought it was a boost leak and while tightning up my bpv i snapped the treads on one of the holes in my tmic not a good day. Looks like im going to find another bolt the next size up tomorow and hope to forcefully retap it. Any suggestions? I did the same thing on my vf52 when i first installed it i overtightened the turbo to tmic flage and broke the threads on the turbo but was able to fix it with a simple nut and bolt. Wont be able to do the same on this maybe helicoils if i cant retap it? Damn cheap ipr tmic it will be the death of me.
That was me my tuner that likes the stock one cause its easy to dial in but im at 99% wgdc and need more lol. Ive used 3 ports in the past (hoa/prodrive) and didnt notice any difference on the tdo4 but at this level of boost on the vf52 i guess its needed. In my oppinion its probly not needed unless your going bigger turbo with more boost but to each there own not hating at all. Long story short got a brand new one last nite for 95 shipped from my tuner should be here tomorow.
I know, just giving you crap! I have the Grimmspeed 3 port and putting it in and getting re-tuned next week. I was told my stock bcs was maxed and a GS 3 port would be perfect. I may not have the fastest SH, but maybe the fastest SH with stock td04 turbo!
no man sorry it was one of the first things done it gave it a nice stance though but if your looking for the lower look go for wrx/sti takeoffs. I keep going back and forth about ditching the swifts but i never do, they give a nice feel while still having close to stock clearance i want to be able to go over speed bumps lol.
Did you do/are you planning a TGV delete? Is it even applicable to our models? Don't hear much about doing the 09+ TGV delete. Of course you just don't hear that much about the 09+ models at all. Just wondering.
I ran a 14.111 in the 1/4 mile the last time at the track. The sucky part of it is I wasn't in the "sport" shift mode, just regular auto granny shifting! I forgot all about the sport mode. Even worse, the first time down the track I forgot to turn off the traction control and upon launching it felt like the asphalt reached up and grabbed me. It stuck right to the track and it was embarrassing! The staging lines were so long I shut the car off and forgot it automatically turns the traction control back on. So now I'm hoping to be in the 13's with my next tune. Track day is the 25th. I really wish I had a VF52, maybe in another year or two I'll be able to do it.
So i got the 3 port on the car and we got the tune finished. We settled on 23psi this time with a little more timing and as i pull onto the on ramp to go home i floor it and 23psi and when i shift im only hitting 15psi and the to familiar hissing. I have a boost leak of coarse and now i have to tear off my pos tmic. I may not put it back on eather i may go to a fms tmic and say the hell with the ipr.
