Not going to happen the sale ended so I am just going to some little things I have been neglecting until summer and then maybe I will go with something bigger. I sent fp a bunch if messages asking about the turbo even before the sale ended and they never returned one message so that also turned me off to there product.

I have not talked to much about the 2015 forester cvt we have but just wanted to share a few things. I had to really force my wife to get it as she felt she was to good to drive a forester haha but she now loves the car as do I. It is plenty peppy i was very suprised on how well it picks up and is very good in the snow even on the geolander (yes they still come with these ugh) and has every option we could ever need. Looks like we will be keeping this car for the long haul as its just that good imo. Of course i just bought the oil for its first change coming up soon (went with castrol syntec 0w20 and napa gold filter) and i have heard they can have oil consumption issues but i broke it in proper and will do the changes at 3000 miles. Dont know why they would use a 0w20 and say you can change it every 7500 miles and wonder why they have oil issues lol but i wont be going that route.

I am having a issue with the hood scoop now that i have gone fmic and removed the ducting from the hood i get all kinds of snow and water and crap in my engine compartment and its getting annoying. Lets here some ideas do i go with a n/a hood or block off the scoop or put some kind of insert?

tough call. but imo the scoop has got to stay. i think subaru got it right having something sleek that matches the body lines, and the look in general is one of my favs. rather then the tacked on scoop look of older models. for those id go scoop less, for ours....block it off.

maybe some kinda simple plate, with super little holes in it so its not a "wall", but still doesnt let stuff in.

my 2 votes:

2008-2014 WRX/STI Hood Scoop Block-Off (aka Scoop Delete)

I wouldn't block it completely, the air coming from the scoop is directed to the turbo and helps it cool. I don't know how much would blocking it affect the temps, but something to think about...
Also when standing the engine compartment would get much warmer. (Again - don't know how much, but definately it would.) Then again, the intercooler is in front, so it wouldn't rise the IAT.
Personally I would go with the mesh just to keep the leaves, rocks etc. larger debris out of the engine bay.

makes sense, i failed to read the CW #s on the kinugawa site, turns out i was flipping back and forth between two diff FPs, lol.

so were talking...
now:
52.5 mm / 68 mm (Inducer / Exducer)
61 mm / 54.1 mm mm (Inducer / Exducer)

that kinugawa:
52.5 mm / 68 mm (Inducer / Exducer)
Turbine Wheel 67 mm/ 58.8mm mm (Inducer / Exducer)

FPblack:
59.1MM Inducer / 82MM Exducer
67.3MM Inducer / 58.8MM Exducer

wouldnt this be even closer Turbocharger 2.4" Cover SUBARU STI TD06H 60-1 and still work with your inlet/DP compared to the FPblack?

just trying to learn, compare wheel, etc more...rather then just seeing "td06" and being done with it. lol.

If it was not im up to money I would def do a full race kit and do a Borg Warner efr turbo. The charts on the seem to good to be true as they spool really fast for the power they make. But don't have 3-5k to spend on that so yeah I'm going to do a large stock location which will give me good power but worse spool for a lot less money. The 60-1 should get me around dyno jet low 500whp and the black would be closer to 600 if I really push it.

Yeah the black is what I want but I hear a lot of horror stories about failed fp turbos and them always blaming the owner and never making good on the warranty. But they are coming with a new htz wheel instead of the hta which is supposed to flow and spool even better. It's a tough decision that luckily I don't have to make just yet lol.
