![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I been on the forums for a while, my first Forester was a JDM Silver SF5 (5spd and huge moonroof), and since then I have fell in love with Foz's. I had owned many skylines, a 300zx, silvias, but I just loved the practicality of the small wagon (mini SUV) with quickness of a smaller car. But I had to leave Japan and sell my favorite car of all times, so when I was stationed in Germany, I was bit by the bug of needing a higher HP vehicle, because of the Autobahn and various race courses in Europe, so it was a no brainer. So I was on a lookout for another Japanese type car (I just love japanese cars), I was scoping the Evo's and STi's, but the insurance rates and askin prices were crazy high here. So I decided to try to buy off the forum and have it shipped (without even lookin at it), scary!!! So I was seriously looking for a good vehicle with a known forum member (new2scooby). He took his foz serious and had really made this fozzy a great potential. He has already done the tune and suspension to the vehicle. Him and his brother installed a needed new ACT clutch/flywheel. He was very helpful to make sure I would get the vehicle shipped to me in Germany. So here are some of the items that has been done to it this far: Purchased Aug 2011 with 130897 miles Tuned by Dave Brown at MSPT making a recalibrated 313whp and 349 torque to wheels 04/10/09 ![]() ![]() ![]() Motor: *COBB Accessport V2 *COBB short ram intake *Super 16g Deadbolt Turbo (TD05h-16g) *04 STI Top Mount Intercooler *STI pill *Walbro 255lph fuel pump *Prodrive 3 way boost solenoid *Perrin silicone adapter (filter to inlet) Perrin Turbo inlet Samco intercooler piping Mobil 1 10W30 Synthetic Engine oil Exhaust: Grimmspeed ceramic coated wrapped uppipe 08 STi wrapped Exhaust Manifold WBR wrapped catless downpipe Maddad Divorced 2pc 3" catted downpipe (not installed) *WBR 3" resonated mid-pipe Forester specific 3" Milltek axleback *Kartboy Hangers Engine bay: *SPT Battery Tie-Down SPT Turbo Heat Shield *STI Group N Pitch Stop Mount PTP Turbo blanket Cobb SF airbox with modified cover Grimmspeed (AOS) Air Oil Seperator KOYORAD Racing Aluminum Radiator KOYORAD Radiator Cap HKS Radiator Cap APEX-i Grounding system Subtle Solutions TMIC Splitter Subtle Solutions Hood Struts 08 Forester Sport XT Engine Cover WRXtra oil pressure sender kit Samco hoses w/new oil cooler crossover pipe Suspension: (Winter)KYB AGX 4-way adjustable struts w/STI pink wagon springs + 1" HDPE Spacers (Summer)H&R street coilovers w/Bilstein monotube Struts *Group N rear strut top mount Whiteline Com-C front strut tops Whiteline rear sway bar 3way adjustable 22mm (need to install) Whiteline ACA forward bushings W52837 Whiteline Roll Center Kit (only steering tie-rods installed) Whiteline Rear Differential Front Support Lock Kit Whiteline front strut bar Whiteline rear strut bar w/quick disconnects Whiteline steering rack bushings Subtle Solutions rear ¼” butt spacers *AVO front adjustable sway bar links *Agency power rear sway bar links *05 STI 20mm rear sway bar w/20mm red energy sus bushings Cobb rear stout mounts JDM v7 STi Aluminum Control arms non castor *JDM STI Aluminum Lateral Link Set *25mm Eibach front sway bar *Kartboy Botox bolts 04 Sti Steering Rack GTspec 3pt fender braces GTspec Anti-lift Kit Pleasure Racing Roll Center Ball-joints TurninConcepts rear lateral bushings grey Brakes: STi Brembo Powdercoated Red Front/Rear w/Russells speedbleeders ATE Superblue Brake Fluid Racingbrake 2pc slotted front rotors StopTech Street pads F&R Rear Brembo Slotted Rotors w/Godspeed e-brake adapters (don't hate, these work great!!) *Goodridge steel braded brake lines X4 05 STi master cylinder Grimmspeed master cylinder brace Shoes: (Winter) Motegi SP10 18x8 +40 (+3mm spacers for brembos) 255/40/18 Dunlop Wintersport SP M3 (Summer) XXR 527 18x8.75 +35 235/40/18 Continental Extreme DW McGard Spline Black Lugnuts Interior: JDM FSTi Front and Rear Seats JDM FSTi Door Cards JDM FSTi climate control JDM FSTi Red Hazard Light JDM FSTi bezel JDM FSTi bexel w/cupholder JDM FSTi left side console pocket JDM Doubledin dash mount JDM Broadway mirror 05 Sti Steering Wheel 05 Sti handbrake 05 Sti shifter ring 05 STi pedals Subtle Solution Dead pedal Autometer Nexus gauges (boost, oil psi, and exhaust temp) (winter) 08 WRX OEM shift Knob (summer) Kartboy black aluminum knob w/STi sticker Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD MB Quart Component speakers front and rear 08 Forester sliding armrest with cupholders JL Audio amps 500/1 and 300/2 12w6v2 Subwoofer Exterior: JDM Window Vent Visors JDM FSTi hood-scoop JDM FSTi Front and rear spats JDM front XT lip extention/spoiler JDM SF5 forester emblem outlined red Front Projectors with HID 6000k bulbs Fog HID 3500k bulbs New Windshield 137000 *Tint Curt rear hitch OEM Rear Spoiler 07 forester sideskirts Importology grill w/Dual red hella horns Rally Armor mudflaps Rare Forester fender flares Transmission: *Stock tranny (was changed under warrantee at 76k and hill holder disabled) Perrin Ver II WRX adjustable short shifter (modified to fit forester) TurninConcepts Shifter bushings Perrin Front large shifter bushing Rear SPT/STI rear shifter bushing *ACT Clutch Kit - Heavy Duty SB3-HDSS *ACT Flywheel - StreetLite 13.9lbs * = installed by new2scooby ![]() ![]()

OK, so when I picked it up, it def was a used car living in New York, I think the shipping company had to do with alot of the damage that was created, and new2scooby understood that, and still tried to help me the best he could, he even filled it up before shipment, go figure they emptied it below 1/4. So the initial drive to the house was scary, the first thing I noticed was the power-steering was incredibly hard, but I still decided to limp it back on the 10 mile drive. Soon, on the way there the engine temp also flew to the top, thinking to myself, Oh S!@#, and I made sure not to boost it and blasted the heater the whole way back. The brakes were seriously shaking, so grandma driving it was, and it was alot louder than I anticipated.
Finally, It arrived in one piece, so I open the hood, and it had no hoodprop :(, OK so i found a piece of wood temporarily, so to investigate the high temps, the radiator was completely empty, and looked at the steering and it had a broken resevoir. Tires were in bad shape (215/45/17), and a little small to be rollin around, probably why the exhaust was slammed in the process. ![]() OK, so now I had some work to do, first off, I needed to buy a new radiator (Koyo Aluminum) and PS Reservoir. New2scooby had sent me an extra set of 07 wrx wheels with 225/50/17's and an extra JNA midpipe. Luckily I had purchased a new set of front calipers (racingbrake w/Hawk HPS's that has now been replaced). ![]()

With an ongoing issue with the rear right caliper sticking, I decided to udgrad all the brakes to Brembo. So instead of wasting alot of money to throw band-aids on the issue, I just went with what works best/reliability overall.
![]() So in the process I also installed the STi MC and the Grimmspeed MC Brace. Also installed the 04 STi Steering rack to improve the handling feel (one of the most noticable mods). Whiteline front and rear strut tower bars. Also installed the STi steering wheel and interior highlights. ![]()

Just installed the Milltek 3" axleback. What a difference in sound, the crazy drone sound I had with the WBR was driving me nuts, around 3000 rpms, it would acually put the family to sleep because it was soo loud. Now with just the Milltek, 3000rpms is not even a concern, it did however quiet the entire range rpms during driving, I guess I'm just gettin old!! Oh, now I don't have to constantly clean that damn rear white bumper all the time.
Thanks Fivos!! ![]()

No, the burn/melting was from the WRX specific 3" exhaust, they hang a little higher (even with the kartboy extended hangers) and forward about 2-3".

Also got a set of Forester Alcantara STi Seats front & rear and all door cards, the rear is the only issue that I'm gonna have problems with, the sliders do not have no place to bolt up, gonna have to take some measurement and see if I can make them work.
